Part of RPGSS is learning from the contest and improving for future tries. Just seeing others designs should help you to be a better designer. Even if you never saw the Top 32 in voting, you saw other of items. Learn from what they did right and wrong. Enter next year with a better item. In the meantime try your hand at freelancing as well.
