My PC is a level 8 Wizard who very rarely gets his hands dirty. He's kind of a pacifist in the sense he doesnt kill, but obviously hanging out with an adventuring group usually leads to quite a bit of violence. Something i like to do is intel gathering/extracting. If we get into a fight with some thugs, and are winning, ill find some way to suppress and isolate an enemy and start picking at his brain while my team deals with everything else.
What are some good ways for a caster like myself to get useful info from 1 on 1 encounters like that? My DCs are really good, and im in a unique position atm to re-distribute feats and such, so i need help deciding on what to focus. Being level 8 i have up to level 4 spells, though level 4 is pretty much filled up.
What are some favorites some of you guys use? And it doesnt have to be spells obviously. I find it useful just talking rationally with them, or even intimidate.

Charm Person isn't bad. Your new best buddy should be happy to spill the beans most of the time.
Suggestion - "The man in front of you wants information and appears to show no malice towards you. If you cooperate and answer honestly to the best of your abilities he will probably let you live in exchange".

Kayerloth |
Bluff and Sense Motive ideally as class skills.
Detect Thoughts - for obvious reasons
Discern Lies - Cleric and Paladin spell but if I could access them via an item or UMD they'd be useful.
Glibness - Bard spell. Much like Discern Lies.
Elixir of Truth - Get them to drink it (Charm Person or Suggestion, mentioned by Snowblind, could be very useful here).
Touch of Idiocy - Hopefully it doesn't drop things too far, a potential drawback to its use.
Tongues - For when you don't speak their language, now you do.
Bestow Curse - Perhaps work with your GM for something creative beyond the 1st two bullet points though they have their use too -> "For every time you tell a lie you must now speak a truth" ... or something similar.
And remember your Summons for their skills as well combat ability (and to watch your back while you focus on the subject) -> Lantern Archon (Sense Motive and Diplomacy), Hound Archon (Intimidate and Sense Motive), Mephit (Bluff).

Third Mind |

Aiming to stay on the cheap ala cantrips:
Utilize Mage Hand and poke them in the face repeatedly in various locations until they give you the information you seek. (Got this from a youtube show I've been watching and enjoying).
Use prestidigitation to make everything they eat and drink taste horrid, turn their clothing into obnoxious colors, etc...
Use Spark to set whatever clothing they're wearing (or other flammable possessions they own) on fire and when they put it out, do it again and again and again, only stopping when they tell you what you want to know.
Bluff, "I'm more than happy to let you go free and unharmed if you give me the information I seek."

Zourin |

Charm person, then whip out the tea and biscuits. "Okay, all this fighting is silly. Why don't you and I just skip the stabbing and have a chat over a drink?"
Yes. Mid-combat tea break. Charm spells can sometimes have a lingering effect if all you do is break the immediate hostility. It's even better if you've got time and skill to make diplomacy or bluff checks.

Zourin |

Detect thoughts and it's big brother Seek Thoughts.
Be careful what you ask for.. and whom you ask with those spells.

Yeah my character has a lot of options in combat, but this specifically is something i really want to find a way to pull off. Goes like this
Invisibility/stealth/DD into position near target
Get into melee range
use Silent Rod to cast Resilient Sphere trapping me and target in about an 8ft diam sphere
drop animated object grappling trap, that sets itself up, then disables target
At which point is start talking.. Or reading his mind? Maybe looking for specific memories. Suggestion to make him want to talk on his own. Interrogate with a good Sense Motive check to see if he's lying.
