Worshipping gods of other races

Rules Questions

Can a pc or npc worship a deity who has a race of worshippers different from their own race? IE elf worshipping Nivi Rhombodazzle

Ask your GM. It's more likely to be allowed if your character has a background of being adopted by that race. If this is for PFS, then it depends on whether you own a resource granting access to that deity, and whether that deity is listed in said resource as only accepting members of the usual race as worshippers. If the answers are yes and no, then you're fine for PFS.

I'm inclined to agree. If it makes no sense for the character to be a worshipper of said deity, it probably wouldn't be allowed, and if PFS's crazy backwards rules that I don't know about won't allow it, then that's that, but otherwise if you have a reasoning and there's no GM fiat about it, then go ahead. If your crazy non-Good Halfling wants to worship Lamashtu and the Four Goblin Hero-Gods, go for it.

I can see no reason why such would be disallowed.

I agree completely.

There's no valid reason I can think of that a half-orc couldn't worship an elven deity, or what have you. The deity themself might not be as keen on it, depending on insularity, but there's no mechanism to prevent any class other than a divine caster from worshipping whoever they please.
