I am looking at creating a zen archer If I take the trait magical talent which gives me a level 0 spell once per day as a spell like ability is this considered the same as the ability to cast arcane spells for arcane strike. I don't really want to take 1 level of sorcerer just for the ability.
I find the ruling for ki pool only applying to unarmed for zen archer a bit dumb as the monk is focused on the bow.

Spell-Like Abilities, Casting, and Prerequisites: Does a creature with a spell-like ability count as being able to cast that spell for the purpose of prerequisites or requirements?
Only if the pre-requisite calls out the name of a spell explicitly. For instance, the Dimensional Agility feat (Ultimate Combat) has "ability to use the abundant step class feature or cast dimension door" as a prerequisite; a barghest has dimension door as a spell-like ability, so the barghest meets the "able to cast dimension door prerequisite for that feat. However, the barghest's dimension door would not meet requirements such as "Ability to cast 4th level spells" or "Ability to cast arcane spells".

Sorry, but as the rules currently stand you have to actually have a class that grants arcane spells to take Arcane Strike. This used to work but they changed the rules up a bit on how SLAs work as prerequisites.

As a slight addendum, I believe that RAW if you can cast 1st level arcane spells and you have a cantrip that scales with your character level as your caster level, you can use the caster level for the cantrip as your caster level for Arcane Strike. The feat never states WHICH caster level you use. :D

The earlier link to the FAQ has nothing to say about caster level. The feat only calls for caster level, never saying it must come from arcane casting. You could have a cleric 19/sorcerer 1 and you'd have a caster level of 19 and also have "Prerequisite: Ability to cast arcane spells." The feat doesn't say 'For every five arcane caster levels'.
