[Legendary Games] Legendary Planet AP - Questions

Yes, they are.

Half-Constructs get save bonuses versus certain effects, cannot be raised or resurrected, and do not breathe, eat, or sleep unless they want to. There is nothing in the subtype that bars them from fulfilling emotional components.

Thanks to Chemlak, Rednal and Legendary Planet's own Neil Spicer... exactly the answers I was looking for...

One small adjustment on the monster ability mentioned:

Spoiler:
Giving the tauslek matriarch makes its initiative +6/-14, rather than +26/+6.

I'm really excited to run this.

I have one character who will be from off-planet. Will there be a point in the AP where the characters get to go home before the AP is over?

Uh... depends on the planet they're from, I think. I don't recall that being part of the main plot, but you could write it in if you really wanted to.

Fair enough. I know I could write it in, and I'm comfortable doing so. I just don't want to write it in only to have it happen a book later, knowwhatImean?

In my case, I will have PCs from at least two planets. I'm asking mostly because To Worlds Unknown talks about

Spoiler:
the failing gate being their only way home.

Spoiler:
That's the intention, yes. It's a bit off... added motivation for the characters. XD

Scarab Sages Contributor, RPG Superstar 2008 Top 4, Legendary Games

There is, to my knowledge, nothing specifically written into any of the upcoming adventures referencing multiple worlds of origin for the PCs, though there IS at least one spot, I believe in Steve Helt's The Depths of Desperation, where there is the tantalizing possibility of being able to return home - wherever home is.

Thanks Jason. Is there then a spot at the end of the AP where they have a gate or some other option to go home? Or will that be up to the GMs? I suppose at some point, magic could get them back.

To clarify, I'm not asking specifically about multiple homeworlds. Just if the option will come up at all for anyone.

Thanks again.

If nothing else, there's always Greater Teleport. Zel-Argose has casting services up to 8th, so that's basically available by default if you really want to work it in. XD

Any ETA when this will be available to none backers (Also have I missed an adventure at somepoint?)

Releases for non-backers usually happen around the time the next book comes out (although, if there's a long delay, that may be waived a bit).

The adventures released for backers so far are The Assimilation Strain (Prologue), To Worlds Unknown (Part 1), The Scavenged Codex (Part 2), and Confederates of the Shattered Zone (Part 4). Part 3, Dead Vault Descent, is not out yet.

Edited for accuracy.

Nearly... Confederates of the Shattered Zone is Part 4 and has been released ahead of Part 3 as it was ready to go!!! Part 3 (Dead Vault Descent) seems to have been stuck in development hell for a fair while but LG seem confident that it is nearly here...

...personally, I'm going to avoid reading Part 4 until after Part 3 (especially as my players are still only halfway, there or thereabouts, through Part 1).

Confederates is actually Part 4 - production delays with Dead Vault Descent ended up making it make more sense to skip ahead and get Confederates out the door since it was ready to push through the pipe.

I have the Dead Vault Descent files now and have taken over development work on it to get it to the finish line, which should have it going into layout once the 5E version of Confederates gets done in layout.

HA - Ninja'd!

Huh. XD Right, then - out of order it was! I was wondering why I had the instinct to add Dead Vault Descent on that list...

...

Still letting my Auttaine player have access to those augmentations, though.

We're all missing DVD. :)

Our original plan was to always have backers 1 adventure ahead of the general public. Given the various delays with production, we talked to backers and ended up deciding to just have a static delay of about a month between backer release and public release, so expect to see this one available around the beginning of February.

Chiming in just to say that Jason has things lining up fairly well now. A lot of the Dead Vault Descent development hold-up was on my end, and compounded by some delay in the original manuscript turnover. It's already pretty far along. Hopefully, it'll be along soon.

In other news, I just finished an editing pass on the fiction by Chris A. Jackson for Chapter 5's Depths of Desperation. And, I'm in discussion with Chris about the remaing chapters of fiction to accompany Chapters 6 and 7. So, there's progress even further down the road for the overall AP and eventual hardcover.

Terrific work, Gents. My group is very eager to start this AP.

Confederates of the Shattered Zone (5E) just went out to Kickstarter backers this past weekend, and both versions of Confederates will be going on sale in wide release next week!

The Pathfinder version of Dead Vault Descent has been sent to layout, which will begin once the layout artist finishes moving this week!

Jason, just curious but who do you use to playtest this AP?

We've run multiple playtests of The Assimilation Strain, To Worlds Unknown, and The Scavenged Codex at PaizoCon the past couple of years. But, in general, each author is responsible for playtesting their designs, usually with their own groups, but sometimes just with a general crew of 4 PCs run by them against certain encounters. I also know Jason has been running the LP AP with one of his own gaming groups.

What mythic tier will we be maxing out at in this AP?

We got your PDF sent your way, so that's fixed up, but you appear to be the latest victim of a strange UK glitch that happens some of the time with customers in the UK. I don't know why it happens, and more weirdly why it only happens with SOME UK customers; I mean, if it's a glitch, shouldn't it always happen with the UK?

What I've done for others when this happens and would be happy to do for you or anyone else in the UK that runs into a problem like this, is just have you email me directly at makeyourgamelegendary@gmail.com and we can do a direct Paypal transaction. You tell me what you want and Paypal the relevant amount to that email, and I send you the download links through Dropbox and/or DrivethruRPG's system (or the print product, if that's what you'd like to order).

Sorry for the inconvenience, but hey, it gives us a chance to show off our Legendary customer service! :)

Ha, my screen hadn't updated so I hadn't even seen this second message yet when I typed the one above. :)

As someone that this bizarre glitch affects (and I've tried on multiple browsers and devices from different networks), I can vouch for the service using this method - I'm pretty sure Jason dreads getting mails from me titled "The Usual...", but I always get a swift response.

The service is indeed Legen....

Wait for it...

Ha, thanks for the corroboration! It is indeed how we roll in all we do!

I'm still a ways off of this part of the adventure (my two games still have the fun of the Scavenged Codex to enjoy before they get there) but I do have a slightly fundamental question about Dead Vault Descent...

GM's and developers only:
I can't seem to find a plot-line that links the players into the social event in the 'Thanex Caper' - how do the players find out about the 'Soiree'? What is the overall purpose of the event? ...is it meant to be in the adventure or is it down to GM's to decide? Any insight would be great, thanks.

The Depths of Desperation (Pathfinder) has just gone out to backers!

Up next... would you believe, Stargates?

Then Depths (5E) and then on to Mind Tyrants of the Merciless Moons!

Just so you know, Jason, the second page of the "Depths" PDF on dropbox says "To Worlds Unknown". Not a big deal, but I figured you would want to know.

Hi, Zesdead.

Spoiler:
The PCs have a contact in Zel-Argose, named Relstanna, who tells them about the party. Relstanna's friend, Andretta, actually has an invitation to the soiree.

Thanks for the reply... clarifies a few things, however...

Paris Crenshaw / Legendary Games:
The first mention of the Soiree within the text of the actual adventure is...

Dead Vault Descent wrote:

A Subtle Soiree

If PCs choose to use subterfuge to plan a heist during the soiree, they can make plans for how best to pull off the job.

It's a little jarring on first read through!!! A line or two at the start of the 'A subtle soiree' section saying, as Paris Crenshaw states, that Relstanna has discovered that the Thanex Coterie are holding a Soiree at their Manse (and even going so far as to suggest what the occasion might be) could help the flow of the text. As it is, I was going back and forth within the text looking for a detail that I don't think is there!!!

Running Scavenged Codex and my crew is having a good time so far. I noticed that two of Mr. Sarlu's spells are missing from the Pathfinder pdf copy. Can I get that cleared up before they get back from Rythes?

Thanks.

Is there an errata/update page somewhere

I'm really confused about the causeway in scavenged codex. Where does it start, where does it end, is it a solid run from start to finish, does the broken part at D6 cross the river and block it off, where is the dried river bed mentioned in that section, if the suggested route for pack animals includes a dc 12 climb check and a 30 foot wall how is a camel supposed to handle that?

Spoiler:
There are two causeways - the intact one of D1-D3, and then the damaged Seabridge Causeway. You can see their respective locations on the map on Page 99. The dried riverbed is on the northwest side of the Seabridge Causeway. As for getting camels up the walls... magic or mundane equipment. Possibly handling the animals and trying to get them to Take 10 on their Climb checks, which is basically an auto-success for them with their 18 Strength. Either way, it shouldn't be overly difficult for the players to navigate.

Spoiler:
D3 is only 7 feet tall and says pack animals will need to be left behind. I doubt a wall 23 feet taller is somehow easier to climb for a camel.

Spoiler:
Not every wall is up-and-down vertical. XD The dried riverbed is implied to be a more navigable slope. And, of course, D3 can be lowered to allow passage... Either way, hardly insurmountable.

Scavenged codex:
The krang Khedri of Vosh is pictured with one eye but it isn't mentioned in his stat block. Shu the wayang on the same page has the "one-eyed" special ability. Is this a mix up, are they both one eyed, is the picture wrong?

Thanks.

The missing SLAs for some reason got printed in white. You can just barely see them in the printed version, and you should be able to mouse over and highlight the paragraph to see them in the PDF. But, to save you the trouble, the missing SLAs are:

At will - seek thoughts (DC 16), sow thought (DC 14)
3/day - babble (DC 15)
1/day - mass daze (DC 17)

EdBlum wrote:

I'm running two groups through the adventure now and collecting notes on things we need to fix. I'm just about to the conclusion with one campaign (maybe 2 sessions left), so I should have a list to send over to layout after that.

Meanwhile, you could post any errata in the product page discussion here at Paizo.

That's a funny coincidence; I never even noticed it. If you wanted to apply that special trait to both of them, I think that makes good sense. The picture is per the original art order; I wonder if in the course of writing the idea of having a character with that trait shifted from one character to the other after the art had been ordered.
