Advice for Herald Caller cleric....

Advice

Am putting together a build for a summoning specialist cleric using the Herald Caller archetype...

Now with the bonus feats of Augment Summons and Superior Summons and using Sacred Summons, I am very tempted to go with the Dark Tapestry domain as my single domain to really go summoner specialist with being able to add the advanced creature template.

However..... this ability is only 1/day so do you think its worth it? Is it too much of a specialisation? Balancing that the Void domain is generally pretty good and it would enable me to be a worshipper of an Outer God or Great Old One for some good RP and the Dreamed Secrets feat.

In addition, are there any races that are better for summoning PC's than others?

Cheers

It's 1/day but it's better than most normal 3+wis/day 1st level domain abilities. It's probably not quite up to the level of the Feather subdomain, but it's not weak.

A small race might be able to ride a summons more easily; gripplis get a +2 wisdom. Or, humans get that extra racial feat which is so handy.

You could consider getting Believer's Boon as a feat as well? It literally gives you everything the Dark Tapestry domain's first power gives you, and it frees up your domain selection.

Ohhh tasty...

Hmmm.... so with Shub-Niggurath I could have Feather as my domain (and still have access to Dark Tapestry) but with Yog-Sothoth I could have the delightful Travel domain...

Choices, choices....
