Does fighting defensivly ignore Maximum dex Bonus

Rules Questions

My current character wears Studded leather and has a dex of +5 which also happens to be his armours dex cap. does that mean my character can't fight defensively or rather, not gain the benefits from fighting defensively.

Fighting Defensively is a dodge bonus not a DEX bonus.

The two have nothing to do with one another.

[Dodge bonuses stack with everything. Including other Dodge bonuses.]

Fighting Defensively provides a Dodge bonus, which would provide additional +2 bonus to your AC. Not to mention, dodge bonuses are (I'm fairly certain) the only AC bonus that stacks with itself, so if you already have a dodge bonus working for you, this would add to it.

You get a dodge bonus to AC from fighting defensively, max dex has no impact on it.

Note that having three ranks in Acrobatics changes the Dodge bonus from +2 to +3.....

while dodge bonuses apply in the same conditions the dex bonus does, they are not limited by armor
