Sanctify Armor description

Rules Questions

On SRD it reads:

Quote:

You imbue your armor with a righteous aura. It gains a +1 enhancement bonus per four caster levels (maximum +5 at 20th level). When using your judgment or smite ability, you gain DR 5/evil.

An outfit of regular clothing counts as armor that grants no AC bonus for the purpose of this spell.

Once this is a paladin/inquisitor spell shouldn't it read:

It gains a +1 enhancement bonus per four levels* (maximum +5 at 20th level)

Otherwise, because paladin caster level is = paladin level -3 and it is a 3rd level spell (access to it starts at 10th level with charisma bonus)

Paladin Level / Caster Level / AC bonus

10 / 7 / +1
11 / 8 / +2
12 / 9 / +2
13 / 10 / +2
14 / 11/ +2
15 / 12 / +3
16 / 13 / +3
17 / 14 / +3
18 / 15 / +3
19 / 16 / +4
20 / 17 / +4
21 / 18 / +4
22 / 19 / +4
23 / 20 / +5

The +5 bonus would be reached only at 23th level

Nope. The spell wasn't necessarily intended to be as good for paladins, as they are not full casters.

Besides which, magical knack trait will count you as two caster levels higher. And there is an ioun stone and other ways to increase your caster level. It's absolutely fine as is.

Also note that it's an enhancement bonus to armor, so it wont stack with magical armor (which is also an enhancement bonus). At most casting this spell might generally grant you 1 extra point of AC and DR 5/evil.
