Making a Fear Based Char / Illusionist

Advice

Like I said, I'm making one. However, I wanted some advice on optomization. I'm looking for 9th level casting, Divine or Arcane works for me I just wanna be freaky with teh magics. If you have suggestos lemme know

What level are you starting at? At first level you'll have to be an arcane caster, if you're starting at level 2 a shaman can do both, by level 6 other divine options open up.

The easiest BTW would be an arcanist boosting save DCs via their arcane reservoir. A gnome with the Effortless Trickery feat is an excellent illusionist, or if you'd really rather have a racial intelligence bonus a wayang could do well.

My only suggestion is not going too much akl-in with it. You still need spells to affect mindless creatures

This combo is questionable, but interesting. Combine the Witch's Shadow Patron Familiar with the Sage Familiar archetype.

Quote:
Shadow—Fearsome Shadows (Sp): Once per day, the familiar can use cause fear as a spell-like ability as long as it is in an area of normal or dim light, affecting a single living creature with a number of Hit Dice up to the familiar’s Intelligence score. Thus, creatures normally immune to cause fear because they have 6 or more Hit Dice may not be immune to the familiar’s cause fear spell-like ability.
Quote:

Dazzling Intellect (Ex): A sage’s Intelligence score is always equal to 5 + its level, but the sage gains the additional natural armor increases of a familiar only half its level. This ability alters the familiar’s Intelligence score and natural armor adjustment.

For fear look at the Court Bard as an archetype (possibly through leadership and a follower if you don't want to play one?) whose performance gives a penalty on Charm and Fear spells. No save either.

remember use still image to give yourself and others concealment as it makes ranged attacks and melee attacks have a 50% miss on you, you just can't move and they can disbelieve your illusion. :P
