Given abilities, not to be taken as Talents, suggestion for better class progressions

Ultimate Intrigue Playtest General Discussion

So, when it comes to the class, we need to look at what makes each specialization different, and add things that allow them to function as a class on their own. Right now the only stuff that the class itself gets is a bunch of mini fame system buffs that really offer no support to the classes actual uses. That should be fixed.

Each specialization oughta have a list of abilities that come online at given levels (most likely odd levels) and should incorporate the 'weaker' iterations of talents.

They should also include the talents that the class would be forced to take anyway, such as the taxed spellcasting and "not sneak attack" abilities.

Avenger:

Spoiler:
1st: Assault Training + Hidden Strike + Surprise Strike (as one ability); Dual Identity; Vigilante Talent
3rd: Armor Skin + Armor Silence (as one ability)
5th: Quick Change
7th: Startling Appearance
9th: Loyal Aid/Sidekick (more like leadership lite/animal companion)
11th: Frightening Appearance
13th: Case the Joint
15th: Stunning Appearance
17th: Hide in Plain Sight
19th: Vengeance Strike
20th: Better Capstone; Vigilante Talent
The Avenger and Stalker are merged here and all the talent choices are available to him.
Warlock:
Spoiler:
1st: Arcane Training (all) + Arcane Striker (one ability); Dual Identity; Vigilante Talent
3rd: Caster's Defense
5th: Quick Change
7th: Startling Appearance
9th: Loyal Aid/Sidekick (more like leadership lite/animal companion)
11th: Frightening Appearance
13th: Social Simulacrum
15th: Stunning Appearance
17th:
19th:
20th: Better Capstone; Vigilante Talent

Zealot:
Spoiler:
1st: Divine Training (all) + Divine Bastion (one ability); Dual Identity; Vigilante Talent
3rd: Caster's Defense
5th: Quick Change
7th: Startling Appearance
9th: Loyal Aid/Sidekick (more like leadership lite/animal companion)
11th: Frightening Appearance
13th: Stalwart
15th: Stunning Appearance
17th:
19th:
20th: Better Capstone; Vigilante Talent

Warlock and Zealot have less abilities later on because there is a lot less to draw from. I found the lists to be very short on both of them mostly because it seems like you are intended to take the spellcasting talents which really means they are not talents at all but false choices.

There is a lot of word count, baggage, and redundancy in Dual Identity, Renown, and Social Grace. It won't be that hard to clean them up and combine them all into the Dual Identity ability, especially considering how little they actually do on their own.

I also nixed the many guises and everyman abilities because they are so very weak that they really just waste ink. Easily could become talents if the devs absolutely need them in the book.

These classes need to function in ways that can mimic or at least be comparable to base classes. That means the Warlock has to be able to function at least as well as the magus, and the zealot has to function at least as well as the inquisitor and warpriest. If the Avenger isn't as good as the fighter/barbarian/slayer, then no one will want to play one.

I also think Loyal Aid should offer a choice between what's written and a sidekick that works like an animal companion or a different version of leadership where they have set abilities based on your specialization.
