Luck Bonuses

Advice

I'm sure this has been discussed or posted somewhere previously, but my google-fu proved to weak to find it on my own.

Is there a comprehensive (or at least fairly comprehensive) list of way to obtain luck bonuses to any/all rolls? The obvious one is the Luck Stone, but there's also spells like Divine Favor.

Thanks for the assistance, assuming any is forthcoming.

The easiest thing would probably be to use the Archives of Nethys' search, select everything, search for luck bonus, and go for it. I prefer to separate results by new lines, but that's personal preference...

1 person marked this as a favorite.

Roll a bard Archaeologist, take the fate's favored trait, and then take lingering performance. Not comprehensive, mind you, but one way to get a lot out of luck.

Thanks. That helps a lot.

Luck bonuses aren't super common, it appears....

Fate's Favored trait combined with Archaeologist Bard and Half orc Sacred Tattoos, while wearing a Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier and casting Divine Favor from a wand is a good start.

That's:
+2 (+1 more /5 levels) to Attack/Damage/skill/saves
+2 saves
+2 AC
+2 (+1/3 CL of wand) to Attack and Damage

Which all stacks.

If not a half-orc, you can get a Headband of Fortune's Favor.

Dragonbane Diviation Sticks are a nice save booster as well.

Nope, they don't all stack. You either do archaeologist bard or the half-orc with divine favor. The luck bonuses to saves from bard doesn't stack with luck bonuses to saves from half-orc. And the attack and damage doesn't work for both either.

There's also the Jingasa of the Fortunate Soldier. An Archaeologist Bard wearing one is getting a luck bonus to everything that matters.

Destined Bloodrager is another option, but is missing the bonus to attack rolls.

Destined bloodline bloodragers get a +1-+5 luck to ac and saving throws

This can make them some of the tankiest characters around if you go primalist and grab beast totem and superstition.

Actually, Luck bonuses are supposed to be one of the ones like dodge that do stack.

"A luck bonus represents good (or bad) fortune. Multiple luck bonuses on the same character or object do not stack. Only the highest luck bonus applies."

From the PFSRD, which could be wrong but I'm too lazy to drag out my Core Rule Book. If you have a more official source I'd be interested to see it.

I stand corrected then, I'm looking through mine now just to make sure.
Which section is it in that dodge bonuses stack?

It's mentioned in the text of the Mobility feat on page 130-131, the rules for Armor Class on page 179, and Special Spell Effects: Bonus Types on page 208 in the Core Rulebook. I believe the rule of thumb is that only circumstance, dodge, and racial bonuses stack.

Helps if you use the correct word and spell correctly..... :-)
