Just about done with this character. Just have some maneuvers to pick which is defendant upon the GM answering my question earlier (about re fluffing the Empyreal Guardians) and picking a path. Leaning towards either Blessed or Wiser; the choice will be dependent upon the GM's answer to that same question.
I have a general background in mind, but it may change depending on that answer, and I have a general appearance in mind. Meanwhile, I'm exhausted and am going to go to sleep now.

After talking a bit with my friend, I've decided to withdraw my interest. Your premise is interesting enough to warrant apping, but I'm concerned about how lopsided things will be in the end, and the very major pitfall of relying on a single player to not only stick around and remain active and interested, but that the story literally revolves around them. Worse is that the difficulty in killing them will paint you and the players into a corner should they perform 'the Vanishing'. I just feel that this story would be better told and played in person.
Good luck, and hopefully I'm wrong!

Yes, we still don't have the Godseed yet either but you can play a hero if you want as well. Now if no one wants to play the Godseed I am willing to just have the PC's as heroes and have the Godseed as an NPC character. That way it would be mysterious and no PC would be imbalanced with the additional Godseed powers. Sort of like the Companions in Dragonlance where the Companions protected Goldmoon so she could restore the power of the Gods to the people.

My idea is to create an White Mother orc - a person who believes in the legends of the White Mother and had seen similar-minded orcs making impact on the general population.
Depending on where we are, he could pretend to be a slaver who took the rest of the party in chains, or he could perhaps be a protector of the single divine PC in the party.

I'm Alleria. :) I'd volunteered to step up if no one else wanted to, although if you'd prefer to run the Godseed as an NPC, that's fine too.

Sorry, Alleria! You had posted immediately before and after Rednal - the Godseed applicant - and I must have looked at the wrong name when I looked it up.

No worries. :) But yeah, I'm still willing if we decide we'd rather have a PC Godseed. Either way.

If its a weapon an Orc would reasonably have Nightflier, you can have it. Yea I am considering making the Godseed an NPC character as that would mean I would have more control over the background as well as keep things mysterious for the Player Characters. Sort of like the "One Ring" of this setting, except that its a force for good that needs to be protected. As for Alvar's question there won't be a Empyreal Guardian order in midnight but certainly there will be some dwarves that actively fight the Shadow rather than hunker down in the underground meat grinder.

I am aware that there will be no group like the one I wanted. However, what I requested was to be able to use the mechanics of the group for my character and just change out the fluff for something more setting appropriate. Can I use those mechanics and change the fluff?
Fluff will be easy to change - the original group was focused on doing what's right, fight for the cause of good, and protecting the innocent. Any such group could be set up to match that, Dwarven or not. I was thinking about even designing the group to be focused on protecting the Godseed specifically (going so far as to have my character take a warder archetype that trades his Aegis ability that helps the entire party to an ability that helps a single individual). I was also thinking of having my character raised by the group rather than in a Dwarven society.
If this is approved, I'll spend the time to write up a group that will be more setting appropriate. If not, then I don't want to waste my time on it.
Other questions that I'm still waiting to see answers to (not all by me):
This campaign is expected to go beyond 20th level, in what real life time frame are you expecting that to happen? Months, years, decades?
What is the starting level? Everyone has been assuming level 1, but this has never been stated.
Have you decided on who will be in? What will be the start date for the campaign, and when is the recruitment period over?

Looking at other's posts, I am very comfortable to put together a Danisil (Jungle Elves) druid, could do with some extra healing.
How detailed character backgrounds you need? Very detailed, usually take me a few days to put together. Taking this one for example, a barely used character (no longer used) from one of nightflier's Midnight adventures: a Plumekith (Aasimar) natural channeller
Let me know?

I think I am also going to have to back out of running this game. The reason being is my Dragonlance: Heroes of a New Age game is in full swing and has got me a lot more involved that I expected. I don't think I can balance running two Play By Post games at once. Still hopefully my mentioning of the Midnight setting has sparked interests and someone in the future will be able run the setting as I am most interested in playing in it. Sorry if you had high hopes for this game.
BTW, I may have space for another character. We lack a Skulldugger class in the party and the party Monk who is a step in for this role does not post very often and I get a sense he might withdraw. So if you are interested please sign up today.

I was definitely looking forward to it, by was concerned by the lack of posting by the GM. Running another game makes a lot of sense. A PBP takes a lot of time to run; much more than just playing.
If you ever decide to pick this game up again, I'm definitely interested. Hope your dragon lance game works out well!
