[PFS]Where to go now? A level 7 Gunslinger / Inquisitor is feeling bored...

Advice

Lantern Lodge

Current character:
: He is a Tengu Musket Master (5), Heretic (2).

At the moment, he has Str 8, Dex 22, Con 10, Int 12, Wis 16, Cha 7.

Feats include Point Blank Shot, Rapid Shot, Deadly Aim, Precise Shot, and Clustered Shots.

The inquisitor levels let him use Wis for most of the social skills instead of Cha, so he has decent Diplomacy in addition to great perception, linguistics, acrobatics, and an ungodly stealth score. He also has a smattering of other sometimes-useful skills (like survival, a few knowledge skills, etc.)

He just hit level 8, and I'm uncertain where to go. I don't feel a need to continue with either Gunslinger or Inquisitor. I've got most of the major PFS-legal books, and I want to either find an effective multi-class or even a PRC.

Right now, I'm leaning towards either an Urban Barbarian or a Winding Path Renegade (brawler) for my remaining levels.

Urban Barbarian because boosting my Dex farther would be fun, and uncanny dodge and some of the defensive rage powers would be nice.

Winding Path Renegade is still a full BAB class, and by level 11 it would get, martial flexibility, some Monk abilities, and a larger range increment for my musket.

Both fit into my general backstory (rural Tien expat adventurer - think of the Japanese peasant musketeers and you've got a grasp on my inspiration.

Any thoughts from anyone? Any ideas I may have missed?

Bane is awesome. Is there a strong reason you don't want it?

Heretic archetype gives up Monster Lore as a class ability, so unless the OP is really pumping points into the Knowledge skills used to identify creatures, they might find implementing Bane problematic.

I've thought about it. I could also get solo tactics, a second judgement/day, and second level spells by sticking it out until Inquisitor 5.

But the bane would only last 5 rounds a day, and I'd be level 10 before getting there, and it would cost another BAB (meaning I'd never get a 3rd iterative attack in standard PFS play).

By comparison, in three levels a brawler would get me an additional 3hp over those levels, better range, and a floating combat feat 4x a day (there are several situational ranged feats that could be nice to pick up).

Barbarian would give me a boost to dex (boosting attack, damage, AC, initiative, reflex, and stealth) and a rage power for 8 rounds a day, 6hp over those first 3 levels, and uncanny dodge.

So, while Bane is indeed awesome, I feel like I might prefer a more immediate payoff that will be fun for the next couple of levels. Really, I'd be more likely to pursue Inquisitor for the spells than for Bane.

Also that. It wouldn't be that huge a problem - our group usually fills in and can help, but it is still a handicap.

OP, the Inquistor spell list is pretty darn good!

Second level spells to look for, either to learn or to get scrolls of:

Blistering Invective
Discovery Torch
Delay Poison
Delay Disease
Hunter's Lore
Resist Energy
Restoration, Lesser
See Invisibility
Tongues

All of these are tremendous to have in your arsenal, for PFS.

Also second level is Acute Senses (UM)I find it great.
I found Bane very useful as well however many rounds I have (and there are ways to increase the number of rounds)
However with your current build it is all a long way off.
As much as I love Inquisitors I think your are right not to continue with it.
What to replace it with is very much a personal choice. I would probably go ranger to continue with the skills, BAB, with the rest being icing on the cake.

Going mutagenic mauler brawler can give you the dex boosting ability stacks with steel-breaker for the lv5 Exploit Weakness.
Luring cavalier is another full BAB d10 class that let you target touch two range increments for highest BAB attacks.
Shieldmarshal is a prestige class that might fit well.

Lantern Lodge

Ok... I think that ShieldMarshal is what I'm going with. I'm not sure how I've missed this book, but it's a great fit, both mechanically and thematically.

Thank you.
