"An eidolon receives a number of skill ranks equal to 6 + its Intelligence modifier per HD"

"Eidolon skill ranks are set once chosen, even if the creature changes when the summoner gains a new level."

"These abilities, called evolutions, can be changed whenever the summoner gains a new level, but they are otherwise set."

"Ability Increase (Ex): Increase one of the eidolon’s ability scores by +2."

tl;dr: eidolon's skills are based on INT and set once chosen
there is evolution that increase eidonlon's INT
What if I pick the skills and then discard the increased INT evolution?
How should the skills be count?


You'd remove one.

Well - to be clear here - I don't think you can drop the evolution, therefore drop the skill points, and then immediately (same level) retake the same evolution and then reapply the skill points.

Using this mechanism to 'reset' your Eidolon's skill points is a little exploity and definitely isn't as intended.

If you added Int, and added skill points, then removed Int, you'd only remove the skill points you added with the initial Int increase.

You wouldn't be able to remove skill points you already had.

In essence, if you plan on doing this, keep track of the bonus skill points you're acquiring so you know which ones to drop.

Spend the Eidolon's base skill points. These are permanent and unchangeable as listed in the Eidolon rules

If you have an Int increase from an evolution then spend those new Skill Points and NOTE what skill levels they went to. If for any reason you lose that Int modifier remove the Skill Levels they provided that you noted when you spent them.

That would be the right way to do it.

The super-right way would be to continue to have them noted - if you ever re-select the Int increase from an evolution, the skill choices from the extra skill points should be the same.

Actually I would DIS-agree with this. Since those 'skill points' technically come from an evolution I would see no issue with them being 'changable' like every other evolution.
