I doubt it could, but could limited wish essentially permanently negate an ability or quality of a given creature? So. For instance, a vampires need to feed, or a trolls regeneration, etc...
While it seems sort of strong, at the same time it's only one target for the thing and they'll still have everything else. Are there spells that actually do the above? I mean, permanently negate abilities and / or qualities?

I would say no, for limited wish. I would allow it to remove the ability for a duration, though, depending on the ability. Feeding for vampires? One to six months. Troll's regeneration? Up to an hour, maybe...
A true wish, on the other hand, could remove something like this for much longer - possibly permanently.
But that's just my interpretation. :)

Here's a LINK to what it's supposed to do.
Nice. I wasn't aware of those rules, thanks for linking them.

I am curious about your reasoning.
A Troll is in the same ballpark power-wise as a Vampire. Why the much shorter duration in your view? I would have thought a Vampire's need for blood was at least as innate as a Troll's regeneration.

It might seem a little meta, but given the context I assumed about the original question, it's about combat relevance. A vampire's feeding is far less relevant to its combat statistics than a troll's regeneration.
Now if we were talking about a vampire's fast healing, I probably would have given a similar answer.
Hope that clears up my logic a little. :)

Makes sense, and thanks for replying.
having thought about what you say, I would set the power of the limited wish by the combat relevant thing, and then set the other things to fit.
Also, if you have a party that can cast a level 7 spell, taking out one normal troll is fairly trivial. A troll with levels or somesuch, or a group of them, that is different.
