Question on the spell "shield"

Hello all, I'm not sure if this was asked before, but I just wanted to double check.

The spell, shield, says that you get a disc of force that hovers in front of you, providing a shield bonus. Does that bonus not apply if enemies are attacking you from behind? Or was that wording just there for flavor?

Pathfinder has no facing rules so the shield will protect you from all sides.

Taenia is correct. Though some DMs may be pissy about this.
