Mikko Kallio and Jacob W. Michaels are excited to announce the formation of Swords for Hire Development, the world's newest Pathfinder RPG-design interest. Not a traditional 3PP, Swords for Hire creates products to be published through other companies, including Outland Entertainment. Our projects, aimed at both players and GMs, will be usable in any campaign setting.
In addition, we want to use our work to help expand the ranks of RPG designers. We expect to use open calls and contests in most if not all of our projects, giving everyone a chance to participate and gain credits and experience that can lead to other work with Swords for Hire and other game-design companies.
Jacob and Mikko previously collaborated as judges, with Superstar 2014 Top 4 finisher Mike Kimmel, on the first Here Be Monsters contest.
Jacob is a two-time RPG Superstar contestant, reaching the Top 16 in 2012 and 2014, and author of the silver medal-winning module "Ironwall Gap Must Hold" for Adventureaweek.com's inaugural Pathmaster contest. He's authored the five-star "Obsidian Apocalypse: Player's Guide" for LPJ Design; contributed to several five-star products for Raging Swan Press, including "Random Encounters: Wilderness, " "Random Encounters: Wilderness II, " and "GM's Miscellany: Dungeon Dressing"; and has had work published in products by Flying Pincushion Games, Jon Brazer Enterprises and Rogue Genius Games, as well as in several Wayfinders.
Mikko is a freelancer, RPG design blogger, and RPG Superstar finalist (2012 and 2014) and judge (2015). On his blog, A Sword for Hire, he interviews third-party publishers both big and small, shares information about freelancing and RPG Superstar, and organizes events such as the Here Be Monsters contest. He has authored the Pathfinder Society scenario “The Golden Guardian” and has contributed to several products published by Paizo, including Adventure Path bestiaries, Player Companions, and Campaign Setting products.

Creating things and publishing them through another company... am I wrong or isn't that just called "freelance"?
Beyond that, congratulations. I look forward to see what you folks can come up with.
