Primary Natural Power Attack?

Rules Questions

If I will wild shape to the form of bear (bite and claws), all these attacks are considered primary (for attack rolls - absolutely).

What about power attack bonus? Is it 1 and 1/2, or not?

I believe it's only -1/+3 if it's your only natural attack - the same conditions under which a natural weapon gets 1.5 Str modifier. The human zombie and its single slam are a good example.

For the bear, it's -1/+2 all around.

Hope this helps. :)

If you have another way of getting 1.5x STR mod to damage, I'd presume you'd qualify for the 3:1 Power Attack ratio.

But otherwise, Kalindlara is right - if it's your only natural attack (and the only attack you make that round), is the usual way that a Primary natural attack gets the 1.5x STR & 3:1 power attack.

The bite is considered secondary in all the monster stats when making a full round attack (Claw/Claw/Bite) If it is your only attack, then it becomes your primary.

Hero Lab always lists the Bite as Secondary, so you will have to add 5 to the to hit when using it as a primary.

Bites are primary attacks. Unlike in 3.5 a monster can have all primary attacks. A primary attack only goes to being a secondary attack when you attack with manufactured weapons in the same round. Other than that its designation does not change.

My guess is that Hero Lab is making an assumption that you will be combining your bite attack with manufactured weapon attacks.

I don't care for Hero Lab. Just enter your character on an Excel Spreadsheet.

What? No it doesn't.

Hero Lab is not an official rules source, and it often gets things wrong.

You can do Bite/Claw/Claw/Claw/Claw/Claw/Claw all at full BAB, assuming you have the proper limbs for it (such as a level 20 Eidolon with a bunch of Arms and Claws evolutions) and they're all primary attacks.
