Hello,
I am working on making a Shaman for PFS, and I'm wondering what I should do about stat distribution. Obviously, Wisdom comes first and foremost, but what I'm wondering is this:
Ultimately, I plan to start with the Heavens spirit (for Color Spray and Hypnotic Pattern) and take Lore as a wandering spirit/wandering hex so I can start grabbing wizard spells.
What I'm wondering is whether or not it's worth it to put points into Charisma or just dump it altogether. As far as I can tell, none of the abilities for the Heavens spirit actually use Charisma for anything, and having a higher Charisma wouldn't make a whole lot of difference for the purpose of grabbing wizard spells.
Knowing this, my stat distribution is as follows:
7 Strength
12 Dexterity
12 Constitution
13 Intelligence
20 Wisdom (with human +2 bonus)
10 Charisma
What I'm wondering is whether this would be a better distribution:
7 Strength
14 Dexterity
15 Constitution (take alternate human racial for an extra +2)
13 Intelligence
20 Wisdom (with human +2 bonus)
7 Charisma

Your Spirit Ability would have only a single use per day, as would the Starburn hex, if that matters.
Investing in Cha for Arcane Enlightenment alone has seriously diminishing returns--the difference between 7 Cha and 14 Cha is a single extra spell, at a cost of 9 attribute points.
I would however hesitate at buying an 18 at 1st level--even for a dedicated caster. Something like...
Str 7 Dex 14 Con 15 Int 13 Wis 19 Cha 7
...still leaves you with the Human bonus feat (or you can be a Half-Orc instead, snag Fate's Favored, and bump all of your saves by +2. You can even trade away your darkvision for more skill points to keep you on par with Human).
