Hey I'm just getting into a game and I'm making a Slayer for it but I'm having some trouble deciding on how to handle building him.
The GM has a couple of Houserules(Mainly that you get a feat every level) and Homebrew(Mostly races, changes to the magic system, on changing what Wisdom and Charisma apply to)
So I rolled for stats and currently have this as my Stat Array.
Str 16
Dex 14(race +2 so 16)
Con 16
Int 12(race +2 so 14)
Wis 12
Cha 11
The GM is also using a Flaw system allowing us to take up to three flaws each one giving us a feat. The feats I currently have are; Cosmopolitan, Toughness, Improved Shield Bash(thinking about switching this out), and Improved Initiative. I also have the traits Child of the Streets, Reactionary, and Pragmatic Activator
We are also using the Armor as DR rule and my character is equipped with a Longsword, Light Leather(wooden) shield, Longbow, and also has a dagger.
Most of the others seem to be going ranged so we kinda need a melee person but I was thinking of going Switch Hitter and still probably going to take some archery feats with the Ranger Combat Style talents. I just don't know if going 2Handed, Sword and Board, or TWF would be the better idea.
I appreciate any help that is offered.
A few more houserules that the GM has is that there is no more Weapon Finesse feat any weapon that could be used with it automatically has the option and Ranged Weapons also get Dex to damage.

The key benefit of Ranger Combat style is ignoring prereqs. This allows you to focus on STR and not have to use light weapons to TWF effectively. You could go with archery, but if others have this covered, and you honestly do not have enough investment in DEX to be good at it, go with something you can be amazing in.
You will still want a double weapon or the Sawtooth Sabres as your weapon, since it will let the offhand count as light for TWF penalties.
Having a Bow is a good idea, but if the rest of the party is taking the high dex and feats, you really do not need to focus on it yourself. Simply buy a bow, and use it when you have to, the Study bonus and Full BaB making up for a lower dex.
What is really nice about a slayer is they can be beastly frontliners and still be skill monkeys. Take advantage of Studied Target's bonus to Sense Motive, Bluff, KN and eventually, Disguise, Stealth and Intimidate. You can do it as a move action, so it takes roughly 3 seconds so defiantly doable in a social encounter. (Roleplay that awkward stare).
With that mass of feats, you can easily pick up many/all of the Slayer talents. Not all of them are great, but there are gems in that hill.
Gear looks good to start, but like I said. Switching to a double weapon and TWF will be a stronger option 2nd level and up. Also, an Agile Breastplate fits perfectly (Edit: I do not know the Armor=DR rules well, so maybe the leather is better)

A +3 dex mod is good enough to not suck with a ranged weapon. You will be full BAB have and studied target. Later you will likely also have caster buffs. With a feat every level you can at least be able to avoid the penalty for firing into melee if some gets to your caster friends but is also flying.
