A new weapon for wizards.

Homebrew and House Rules

Few days ago I got an idea. As a wizard, you can make a wand, and fill it With 50 spells (Magic Misile for example). So, make 6 and put it on a wheel, and attach a trigger which makes the wheel turn. Like a mother F**king wand gatling cannon!
My GM was not as excited as me. He says That use a wand is a standard action, and he is right . But I have another idea. There are magic traps, and no standard action is needed to trigger them. What's your opinion? Which spell can I use to make my dreams come true?

You could have a permanent Symbol of Sleep enchanted on a vest that specifically excludes the party, then every enemy that looks at you will lie down in the Kill Me pose if it fails a save. The best part is collateral damage does no harm.

Get your same 6 wands, or 60 wands, or 600 wands. Make them yourself so that they all have the same command word. You don't even need a spinning wheel or any other mechanism, just glue the wands together into one big bundle. Make sure the dangerous ends are all pointed the same way or you could have a problem.

Now just point and click (well, if your command word is "click" you will actually have to point and say "click" out loud).

Or for better action economy, give the bundle o' death to your familiar and keep your hands and your standard actions free for casting your own unlimited cosmic power while your familiar hams it up as John Wayne in The War Wagon.

Forget wands. Get a blank spellbook. Cast explosive runes on every page. Throw it at someone and then cast dispel magic and take one on the caster level check

Replace the wands with intelligent items with 3/day magic missile or similar. In fact, even acid splash is ridiculous if you get enough of them. It also doesn't cost you any actions.

A bunch of rods with 10 in all ability scores, at will acid splash and 60ft senses would only cost 2000 a pop.

Intelligent items in general are abusable as hell.

My idea was not a wand cannon, it was more like:

But with a tiny wizard and his familiar.
That is why my GM says that I only can do one standard action, and to fire the wand gatling cannon I would need more actions.

One word to destroy them all: Abracapocalypse!

Flagged for move to general discussion. Not a rules question.

Dark Archive

It's a rules question. There's just no way to get what the OP wants, so the question is pretty much answered already.

You auto-dispel your own spells.

Craft Trap can do it.

Auro-reset.
Multi-effect.
Manual Trigger.

It will be seriously expensive, but it is completely doable.

what is old is new again... this was done circa 1980...
