Mythic feats

Rules Questions

Can I take a normal feat in place of a mythic feat?

Grand Lodge

Yes you can. Just take the mythic feat that says take a normal feat.

Ugh, yes, but why would you want to? ;) Mythic is so much more fun.

Because there are characters for which very few Mythic feats are usable for.

I can't imagine that scenario... *scratches head*

Extra stats aren't useful? *scratches head*

It what he asked about. Ours is not to obsess over another's choices.

LazarX, you are too quick. I edited to remove my comment about stats, realizing that FEATS don't give you extra stats with Mythic...

I have run a game all the way to level 19/mythic 9 and one player did actually take one feat as non-mythic... it confused me...

I guess if you don't have access to "Mythic Options" then the choices are somewhat limited...

But you can use the feat to gain an extra path ability... and use that path ability to gain stat points... Who wouldn't want extra +2 stat points??

Grand Lodge

Extra +2 stats is boring when you could pick up a feat that gives you an entirely new option to use in combat.

I have come up against this myself a few times.

1) You wouldn't do that if you've done it before. Extra Path Ability can only be taken at 3rd tier or higher, and only once.

or

2) You might not do that if you took the enhanced ability path ability previously for your main stat, and a non-mythic feat fits you better than a +2 to a "non-relevant" stat.

*shrugs* I primarily make fighters with mythic rules, they have TONS of options available.

The cleric in our group took a non-mythic feat in place of a mythic, but he had basically made an item crafter with no metamagic, so I guess that made sense for him (he had lots of channeling based feats too, I think he took extra channel?).

I am not at home right now, so i cant write all my character's feats. It's a monk, multiclassed with barbarian, specialized in dimensional dervish ecc feats ( no myhic options here) and dragon style feat chain and pummeling style feat chain ( no mythic option here too) I like his mobility, he will have something like 60 meters/ movement action ( monk bonus, barbarian bonus, mythic impossible speed active/ passive), so i wanted to take both Run and mythic Run feats, for pure roleplaying reasons.

Sorry for double posting, where can I find on the mythic feat who says i can take a normal feat? The only thing i could find was extra mythic feat, which specifies that you gain a mythic feat.

If you look in the Mythic Characters heading of the book where it talks about all the various abilities you get- under the Mythic Feat heading of that same part it says

"Mythic Feat: Select one mythic feat or non-mythic feat as a bonus feat. You must qualify for this feat normally. You gain another mythic feat at 3rd tier, and again every 2 tiers thereafter."

No... any feat which does not specifically say you can, can only be taken once.

Can a normal character get mythic feats? Example: I am Fighter and i have Vital Strike, after going up in level I want to get Vital Strike Mythic. What would I have to do to get that feat?
