Need help making a Naga-like Character.

Advice

Ok so I have been wanting to introduce a Naga-Like character into my current game. Now Naga in PF (possibly in 3.5 too) are just snakes with human heads. But what I am looking for is a snake or serpents body with a humanoid torso, so arms and a head at the end rather then just a head of a human.

I was looking into a Lycantrope fix for this. A Wereaconda if you would.

Now I imagine the hybrid form to be Large, with a human torso and the serpent body taking up the amount of space for a large creature, requiring narrow frame to fit in smaller places.

Now of course medium is more beneficial as it does not hit me with negs to anything but seems less impressive when imagining this character slithering into view.

Anaconda is a good idea to mix into the Lycan template but I will admit I want the constrict ability.

I could do this with a Kind Cobra snake which is large has less CR and I could use it but the constrict ability is very cool and I can only see getting it if I went Anaconda.

Any help out there?

Well, they did kind of make a prestige class for that, although its limited to one race: nagaji Naga asiprant

I am familiar with that Archetype, but it also just changes them into a Naga which as I said is basically a snake with a humaniod face on it. That to me is not the classic Naga I like to picture. I like the serpent folk with the snake like bodies and the arms and head of a humanoid so they can clutch weapons and fight almost like Merfolk but instead of part fish they are part snake.

Have you considered using the Race Builder from the Advanced Race Guide? Just curious if you knew about it. :)

I know of at least one 3pp that introduced a template or something for exactly this body type. I want to say it was the medusa race PDF product put out by Purple Duck Games...

Silver Crusade

Pretty sure that's the product now. It was called Serpentine Template IIRC. Just pick a race to use as a chassis, pop that template on, and you have a new race that can't wear boots but can't be tripped. I can't recall for certain what else it did.

Personally, I'd strongly recommend vishkanya as the base for such a race. Makes for a perfect match in flavor and mechanics. :)

Gah, that's the other one! Ready-made too, fully recommended!

Sovereign Court

guess you could go the easy way out: summoner synthesist with a snake like eidolon, fusion!

Use Merfolk. Replace Move 5'/swim 50' with move 30'/climb 20'. Replace aquatic/amphibious with a bite. It should get you pretty close as it's the ONLY none legged paizo race.

I am looking into the Lamia race right now, it looks interesting to be sure.

I am looking into the race builder I was at work so I couldnt invest the time to go through the builder.

Monstrous Humanoid (3 RP)
Large Size (7 RP)
Normal Speed (0 RP)
Advanced (4 RP)[+2 Physical, +4 Wis -2 Cha]
Standard Lanuage (0 RP)
Serpentine Body (2 RP)
[Cannot wear Feet slot items, cannot be tripped]
Swim (2 RP)
Slapping Tail (3 RP)
Tripping Tail (3 RP)
Reach (1 RP)
Amphibious (2 RP)
Swordtraining (4 RP)
Slow (-1 RP)
Total 30 RP
CR +1

If I added Constrict into this
Constrict (4 RP)
34 RP points would put me at a CR +2 which is more then reasonable given the Lycanthrophy has a high CR.

I had a similar idea a few years ago. I ended up playing a summoner with a serpentine eidolon that resembled a lillend.

But I would go with the lamia commoner race in Advanced Races: Lamia if you don't want to be stuck with a pet spellcaster.

Serpentfolk
The way its worded this seems to be a humaniod top with a snake body, just no mention of legless, but their spell like ability specifically notes a Humanoid form which makes me think reflavor as a snake body wouldn't be a stretch even if it was not true.
