Dark Archive

So I scrapped my Oracle concept, and switched to Ordain reach concept Gnome.

Gnome: Because they are awesome.
Eternal Hope (re-rolls are nice); Darkvision (arguably better than +2 Perception), and Academisian (no skills for craft, so +2 to K. Planes!)

Stats:
14 Str; 13 Dex; 14 Con; 10 Int; 10 Wis; 16 Cha

FCB: +1/2 Lay on Hands for 8 paladin levels, +1 HP at last paladin level.

Traits:
Blessed Touch, Sun-Blessed

Levels:
1: Paladin; 3-5 Oracle; 6+: Paladin

Feats:
1) Fey Foundling
3) Additional Revelation (Channel) - or- Combat Reflexes
5) Combat Reflexes -or- Celestial Obedience
7) Celestial Obedience -or- Power Attack
9) Additional Traits (Magical Knack - Paladin For Level 11 Feat, Below if needed, and Reactionary) -or- Honestly, no idea here.
11) Divine Interference

If I do not need Magical Knack to get to CL 10 (Paladin) and I can instead add Paladin CL to Oracle CL to get Divine Interference, I will take

Level 2 Oracle of Life (Dual Cursed)
Level 1 Revelation: Life-Link
Level 2 Revelation: Channel (See Feat above)
Level 3 Revelation: Misfortune

At level 7 I would have Lay on Hands as a level 4 Paladin, plus level 3 Oracle channels.

Lay On Hands for 2d6 +2 (Fey) +2 (Obedience) +1 (blessed touch) +2 (FCB)= 9 minimum, 19 maximum, 14 average as a swift action, 5 times/day, and can hold up to 7 overheal as temp HP.

The Exchange

Why are you taking only one level of paladin to start? How about:
Oracle 1 / Paladin 2 (Hospitaler) / Oracle 2 / Paladin X

EDIT: Oh, you are taking those paladin levels. nvm. I would still take the first level in oracle though.

Whenever I multiclass a paladin, I tend to take 2 levels right away, just to get charisma bonus to saves as soon as possible.

Paladin first gives your 2 more HP, I don't understand why Covert wants you start Oracle.

I feel like the 4th level of Oracle is worth it. No BaB loss, an extra Life Link, and 4-5 second level spells seems like a good deal.

Fey Foundling should be +2 HP/die, so +4 in your example. I'm not sure what else Celestial Obedience gets you, but you might consider Greater Mercy instead, for +1d6(+2 for Fey) to LoH.

Celestial obedience gets +1 per die

Eponine, I am a diehard fan of the Oradin build, so wanted to ask you your opinion on some stuff:

- Don't you think that the half-elf is worth it for the split FCB on both classes? Or isn't it boost enough?

- In the end I got lost :D Are you doing Paladin-Oracle-Paladin, or Paladin-Oracle-Oracle for the first three levels?

- Where is Sun Blessed from, I can't seem to find it in PFSRD

- Would you find useful to fit either Extra Channel or Extra Lay on Hands into your feat selection?

- I know most don't really find this relevant but... What skills are you focusing on? :D

- Do you think the melee damage ever becomes relevant? Even with Power Attack?

I am not sure whether you mean getting both FCB, or the Elf FCB for the +1 spell for Oracle. Either way, I don't think it will make or break me.

I think I will do Paladin first for the 2 bonus HP. Probably for the first 2 levels just for the saves.

Sun-Blessed (Magic Trait)

Your birth came at a time when the sun was auspiciously aligned with your birth sign. As a result, you have a natural affinity for light and life. Whenever you're affected by a healing effect that would heal more hit points than your maximum hit point total, you gain the excess healing as temporary hit points. you can gain up to a number of temporary hit points per day equal to your character level in this way. These temporary hit points last for 1 minute.

I will have 3 cha + 1/2 level lay on hands, and 1+3 channels, so I don't think I would use either given the power of the other feats. I will look at the Archetypes in case any increase either channels/day or Lay on Hands uses.

Probably Perception, UMD (for a couple levels anyway), and K. (Religion).

Relevent in the contribute meaningfully to a minimum of guaranteed Aid Other actions, yes. Useful in terms of Damage, perhaps a small amount. No I don't think there is a way to get to AM BARBARIAN SMASH level damage, but 10-12/round should be easy peasy.

With a Glaive and Combat Reflexes, I enemies may provoke against me on a regular basis, allowing me to use my standard actions for other things.

One argument for taking Oracle first is having cure light wounds available right away, if 1) you're staring at level 1, 2) there's no one else in your group who can do it with wands or anything, and 3) if you're worried about healing at the start. I'm going Oradin-lite (Oracle 1/Paladin x) in my next campaign, and I'm taking my first level in Oracle for that exact reason.

Plus, fluff/RP-wise, since Oracle is predicated upon some kind of innate magic ability, it makes more sense to me to have that come up first, haha. :) Unless you can work the power-granting event into the campaign arc somehow.

I have re-tweaked to the following:

[CL *] Refers to Paladin Caster Level for purposes of qualifying for feats, such as Divine Interference as well as determining the Familiar's abilities.

HD refers to the Characters total Hit Dice (easier than levels considering a multi-classed character)

The Parenthetical following the class name indicates Class Level.

Both Chosen One and Dual Cursed are Archetypes of the given classes.
HD 1) Paladin(1)[CL 1] (Chosen One) - Feat: Fey Foundling - Traits: Reactionary (+2 Initiative) and Magical Knack (Paladin)
HD 2) Paladin(2)[CL 2]
HD 3) Oracle (1) (Dual-Cursed) - Mystery: Life - Curses: Tongues (Celestial) and Legalistic (Non-Advancing Curse) - Revelation: Life Link Feat: Combat Reflexes
HD 4) Paladin (3) [CL 4]- +1 Strength (15) [17 With belt*]
HD 5) Paladin (4) [CL 5]- Feat: Power Attack
HD 6) Oracle (2) [CL 6]
HD 7) Oracle (3) [CL 6]- Revelation: Misfortune - Feat: Improved Familiar
HD 8) Paladin (5) [CL 7]- +1 Str (16) [20 with belt*]
HD 9) Paladin (6) [CL 8]- Feat: Celestial Obedience**
HD 10) Paladin (7) [CL 9]
HD 11) Paladin (8) [CL 10] - Feat: Divine Interference
HD 12) Paladin (9) [CL 11] - +1 Dex (14)[22 with belt*]

*I hope to have a +2 Str belt by 4th level, +4 by 8, and +6 by 12.

** Lymnieris Obedience: Healing spells you cast heal 1 more point of damage per die. Does this apply to lay on hands? If not, I will switch to another Feat.

Skills: UMD and Perception at all levels. Any extra into K. Planes for Celestial Obedience
