A gunslinger would be given a wet sloppy kiss later in the campaign - it won't be 'til you're past 10th level, mind you, but the kiss will leave your toes tingling. ;)
Paladins who accept the need to go undercover while deep in enemy territory also work well. As would a Ranger. Oh, would a Ranger! (Stalkers and Slayers from the new class guide also work well.)
Actually, Barbarians also have some good potential in the game.
Mostly it depends on your tastes and what your fellow players are taking. There will be areas of the AP where diplomacy and bluffing works quite well, so if there's no Face character, then you might consider a Rogue, Investigator, or a high-charisma class.
