Hi again!
I have one more question about using Spell boons. Again, I believe I know the answer to this but want to verify my understanding.
I draw a spell from a location and my Divine-challenged warrior somehow lucks out on a check to acquire it. I'm assuming that I can use the card in play. But based on the following statement coming AFTER the main text, once I use it, I must then banish it:
"If you do not have the Divine Skill, banish this card"
I'm imagining the intent of this statement is to allow anyone who makes the check to acquire it the ability to use it once. But not keep it after the encounter when rebuilding their deck. Sound about right?

In a thematic sense, it could mean that any character without the Divine skill would have to cast CURE by reading a scroll and that scroll is consumed after casting.
The same idea translates to weapons and proficiencies. Some weapons require you to be proficient with weapons. If a player who isn't proficient with weapons attempts combat with a LONGSWORD, it wouldn't be as effective as compared to someone who is proficient with weapons.

Thanks guys! That's what I thought. I'm up to playing Skinsaw right now as my first time through. I have the theif and warrior. I'm really wishing I would have brought a magic user too but i think I'm too far along now to add one.
Unless... I just happen to meet a traveling wizard on the side of the road on my way to my next location... ;)

As an addendum and adjustment to Hawkmoon's answer above, I'd like to add that some characters may gain spell card slots without having the requisite Divine or Arcane skill to keep the spells after use.
If a character has a spell card slot in their deck, they may keep spell cards as normal, whether they have the ability or not to cause them to be recharged upon use.
I just mention this because the OP stated "I'm imagining the intent of this statement is to allow anyone who makes the check to acquire it the ability to use it once. But not keep it after the encounter when rebuilding their deck. Sound about right?"
This is incorrect. If a character has a spell slot, that character can keep a spell if there is a spell to keep at the end of the scenario. If there's no spell to keep, they go to the box to find a card as normal to fill that spell card slot.
The banishing bit is only when the spell is used, not for keeping it after the scenario.

Thank you. I was about to search for that clip, too!
