Wild Shape Options

Advice

Is there a wild shape option for a Druid which flys, and offers them the ability to use a longbow?

Air Elemental, theoretically. Other then that, none I know of.

Actually, I don't think that would work either.

When you cast a polymorph spell that changes you into a creature of the animal, dragon, elemental, magical beast, plant, or vermin type, all of your gear melds into your body. Items that provide constant bonuses and do not need to be activated continue to function while melded in this way (with the exception of armor and shield bonuses, which cease to function). Items that require activation cannot be used while you maintain that form.

I suppose you could throw down your bow and arrows and pick them up later after you are transformed. But it's not something you'd be able to do on the fly.

True, but when I Druid I usually just stay in Wildshape. In my current campaign I have barded armor for my Allosaurus and Deinonychus forms that have my trusty Allosaurus AC carry and the party help put on.

Anyways, yeah, elementals seem like a good bet.

I love my rock elemetal wielding s large great sword :3

If you really want to focus on using a weapon with an elemental form, the Shaping Focus feat will let you multiclass up to four levels without giving up any wildshape, so that you can work on improving your martial abilities.

I've been toying with the idea of a Storm Druid 4/ Whirling Dervish Swashbuckler X, since with Shaping Focus and 4 levels of Storm Druid you get 24 hours of medium air elemental, plus some air-themed abilities and a little taste of Druid Magic - including maybe sticking Frigid Touch in a spellstoring scimitar.

The backstory for a mystic wilderness-wandering dervish just writes itself.

And elementals are not a bad choice for going around all day as. They can have hands, they have a language, and you can eventually get DR with them (DR 5/- at level 12; about on par with an invulnerable rager at mid levels)
