Beast Bonded Witch + Tattoo Familiar?

Positive I can, question is what happens if my PC dies with their familiar existing on their skin as a tattoo?

In particular, I'm wondering if the Bonded soul familiar can choose to stay attached to the skin of the deceased character until they decided to leave. Would be pretty interesting if opponent was a necromancer, so they make a zombie from the character and the familiar can just leave with the other zombies...

Going by the word of the Tattoo Familiar ability, it seems that it can sit in your corpse for as long as it likes before exiting, though i am unsure if it can re-enter your corpse

Um, tattoo says you cannot have a bonded item. Beast bonded says you gain an bonded item....

One or the other.

How positive are you again?

Even if you could, once you die your familiar stops being a familiar wouldn't it? An object (a corpse isn't a creature) doesn't have class abilities does it?

Huh....You sure you read that right? Might want re-read before posting.

10th level Beast Bonded Witch has ability called "twin soul (Su)." When the witch dies, the witch's soul goes into the familiar sort of like magic jar. It is specific that the witch can remain in the familiar indefinitely.

Tattooed Mystic has an ability called "Familiar Tattoo (Su)" which specifically stacks with witch familiar levels and gains the familiar the ability to become a tattoo on the tattooed mystic's body.

So, the question becomes, if the character is slain (his soul transporting to the familiar as per twin soul) does the familiar get forced out of tattoo form? Or can he remain as a tattoo on a corpse? Likewise, can said corpse be animated or otherwise defiled as per a normal corpse?

This is likely the correct answer.

In any case, witch would need to be at least 10th level beast bonded and 1st level tattooed mystic before this instance could even arise.

My apologies, I apparently manages to click on "bonded witch" which states it gets bonded item (and so mistakenly thought they were incompatible, yay late night posting from phone).

No problem, simple mistake.

Okay, so to give you an idea now on how *I* would rule were I your GM... You're still alive, the familiar is still your familiar... That's still your body even if it is dead... so I'd say the familiar can stay if it's a tattoo, but cannot become a tattoo again until you get a new body (or you get resurrected.) Or in other words, once the two of you leave tattoo form, there is no going back to the corpse. I don't think it's overpowered since the familiar (and by extension you) can't actually do anything as a tattoo.

Agree with both.

Anyway, goal isn't anything overpowered, just stumbled on an odd rules interaction and wanted to verify I was reading it right.
