Here is the stats and requisite formatting for Tanner Nielsen. I will add backstory tomorrow.

Mawj
TN Male Ratfolk Witch
Preferred Kingdom Role: Magister

Nerisiel's stat block should be fixed.

I should be able to post a few times a day, except on weekends. I'm usually on during the weekends.

Having grown up on the streets of the river kingdoms, Nerisiel was quick to pick up on how to survive alone in cities. As a child, she was often reduced to a life of begging, an insult to her proud nature even despite her poverty. That changed when she managed to kill a dire rat with a kitchen knife. After that, she advertised herself as a Slum Bar Exterminator, taking care of those pesky problems like dire rat infestations or shaking people down for old debts. Eventually, she was able to save up enough to by some leather armor and a couple daggers for her personal use and became a local freelance adventurer.

Two years later, she gets word of groups heading into the Stolen Lands to carve themselves out little bits of the wilderness for their own. Deciding that she could make a name for herself, Nerisiel headed out of her hometown and headed towards her future.

I'm going to pick some people out who I know I want so far.

Endoralis is in some of my other games and I know he is a very very active poster, I'm comfortable taking his character.

I'm also going to take Vladimir Ducheski as well.

It's unlikely that I'll end up with only 4, based off the submissions I've recieved already. So that leaves 4 to 6 slots still available.

Liberty's Edge

Congrats to those chosen! I am wondering if it would be OK to change my submission? We have lots of fighters, and while I think Vik is an interesting character, I do not think we need another warrior, so with your permission I would like to submit an arcane character. I will have it up very quickly for the crunch, and add the fluff asap.
Thanks

Ok...here is my new arcane submission..so please remove Vik off the list, and instead add Tomas. Working on fluff and should have it added by tomorrow.

What are the chances you will take two Cavaliers, lol?

I have finished my backstory. All that is left is the mount which I can make if I get selected. I personally think it would be good fun to have two friendly but competitive Cavs. Although order of the Blue Rose probably will lessen that a bit. But still, it would be cool.

I can change his last name to be a bit more Slavic if you like as well.

Crunch Done...

This man lives by one phrase.

" We were meant to fight! You fight; Then have a feast! You fight; Then taste fine wine! You fight; Then sleep with beautiful women! Hell, FIGHT beautiful Women! Thats what it means to LIVE! "

Applying with this character Lizardfolk Cleric of jalai jatali.. ill get the character all done and formatted in a few hours. Using stats from race creator examples on prd.

I take things I like at first, I'll worry about things like casters if I haven't already chosen them at the end.

So I don't care if I end up with 4 fighters for instance if I like them enough, I'll just fix it somewhere else.

Here is my application:

Timezone: GMT -3:00

Party Role: Battle controller, Emergency healer, Party Face
Kingdom Role: Councilor/Grand Diplomat

@DM

If there's anything outside your requested format, please tell me and I'll fix it.

"Well...I suppose I can agree with you on part of that, Sugua. I have nothing against fine wine, and certainly nothing against sleeping with beautiful women, but the fight must have a reason."

Yep, I can see that these two are going to but heads on a regular basis ;)

Shadow Lodge

Have a character in mind, I'll post him this evening, but DM: There is currently some...disparity on whether or not Investigator can use wands like an Alchemist. You have stated you are an RAI over RAW. RAW is they can not, but it is unclear on the RAI: What is your opinion?

Shadow Lodge

I am interested in playing, but before I submit a character I need to ask. I have DMed this campaign before for my home group. I would do my best not to meta-game. Would this exclude me from being chosen?

" You must be hard of hearing then, pinkskin! The reason.. is to Fight! What more reason do you need? Your type always tries to add morality to the idea when really all you want to do is FIGHT. You train to fight, you build to fight, you aspire.. to fight! Why do all that Flowery dancing if it was not to supplement your inability.. to fight? Why craft weapons and armor if not to fight? See, you cannot answer these questions without making ME right! "

"Well their blood might fertilize the soil at least. You are both wasting your breath. Long after you wrap your injuries, sleep with your chosen petty conquest, and even after you die, the soil takes you. The soil and its children take everyone in the end. I, for one, will wait as long as I can to fight, if I must."

"Fighting serves its purpose, regardless of when we are called to settle accounts. Many can be and should be reasoned with, able bodies put to the betterment of their fellow men...however, some know nothing of reason and will only hear the edge of a blade or the point of a spear...it is those who I bear the sword against. One should not be in a hurry to fight, but if it must happen, one must fight to win. Quickly and decisively."

"Well then, that's a little better. I agree. Once decided, a fighter must commit to the end. Pleasure to meet you. I'm Feron Ornor, although many call me The Silver Gardener, or the Gardener."

Offers you a hand.

Couldn't resist "hanging out" a bit ahead of the decision :P

After a lot of thought, I think I want to submit and Ex-monk Drunken Master (in case I ever decide to atone) 1st level, going into Brawler then on.
I have to go to work, when I get back I will work on the background and crunch. I feel he will be a very interesting character to say the least.

"Khargol Uzgurn. I am an...enforcer of Abadar's ideals. I also am pleased to meet you." the half-orc answers. Though not quite monotone, he shows little in the way of facial expressions. Though not a scowl, his visage could certainly be described as stern.

I assume most people have played Kingmaker at this point, it's both one of the most popular and oldest APs. You're fine.

But yes, any meta-gaming is of course, frowned upon.

Then again, I change things a lot, so you may not get many opportunities to do so anyways.

" HAh, what kinda man are you? If what you all said was true my god's very existence is proof enough you are wrong. It is in our nature to fight! Basic survival is a constant fight. Even animals do it, Fight for Food, For Shelter, Territory! You fight for the right to mate, you Fight for positions of power! You fight for your 'ideals'. Living is FIGHTING! Are you saying your above even nature? It is the course of our kind to do so, otherwise, why would war exist!? " Sugua takes his sword and shoulders it taking a drink from his waterskin, the Heavily tattooed half orc grunts showing his tusks in a smile.

"It es no use Green One. Dese men of de more, civilized lands do not understand de struggle of life beyond deir cities," says a heavily accented half-orc joining the conversation. He may not have the gurth of Sugua but he definitely has an impressive array of tattoos. "Food. Shelter. Respect. A woman. One must fight to acquire dese tings and fight to keep dem safe. Et is why deir songs lack passion. Lack strength. Lack conviction. I bring dis to dem. I bring de storm. I add some metal to dere melodies," he says drawing the greataxe and resting it on his shoulder much like Sugua.

I want in on this fun.

Khargol huffs a breath at the statement, though gives no other visual indicator of his annoyance at the statement. "I never claimed it was outside the nature of man and beast to fight...nor do I claim to being always above that. But there are much loftier goals than simply being the base creatures our natures would make us. If I fight for power it is only that I may better protect those who are unable to protect themselves from the likes of those who would see the Stolen Lands a breeding ground of chaos and banditry."

Go ahead

Sugua slaps Angor roughly on the shoulder, " This man HERE speaks the truth! Some SENSE! As for you fellow greenskin, I don't care what flighty words you want to use to dress up the act, a fight is a fight and you do so to fight and get what you need, protection, or otherwise! Let's just hope the Stolen Lands isnt too boring or my Blade will never get use! "

Khargol Uzgurn wrote:

"Ahh, a fellow Abadarian, pleased to meet you, Khargol. Feron, a pleasure to make your acquaintance as well. I am Vladimir Ducheski, a member of the Order of the Blue Rose. It is good to hear that all of those who hope to receive the charter to explore the Greenbelt are not such a blood-thirsty sort." he says, glancing in the direction of Sugua and the newest half-orc to join the conversation.

Figured it was worthwhile to upate Pinvendor's work:

Submissions so far:

Aodhan inserts himself into this philosophical debate, "I must disagree my friend. There are only two reasons to fight. The first is to protect yourself, your loved ones and your country. The second reason is for glory and to be remembered forever. Fighting just to fight is to throw away resources and lives." Aodhan shakes his head with a sardonic grin, "I fear the day your people realize this because it will mean trouble for the rest of us."

"Yessssss to protect family and to protect onessself, they are good reasonsss to fight, to fight for glory isss vanity and ssshould never be perssued by those who are of good sssensse"

Talomyr wrote:

Thanks, Talomyr, I was just coming to do this. :-)

"And yet 'ere we are, fighting wit words. Defending our opinions as we would our bodies. To fight es to live. Truly live."

A knew voice inserts his opinion.
if fighting can be avoided, it is usually the best course to do so. Though, if fight one must, they should do so in style afrerall, swordplay is an art, and should be treated as such. Glory is a empty thing, you must be remembered not only for what you fought for, but how you did it he pauses, then gives a small wink

and how good you looked doing it

"Do not mistake infamy for glory, friend. Glory can only be achieved honorably. If we were to build our new country on the bones of those weaker than us, whom we slaughtered, there would be no glory only infamy." Aodhan then gives a little chuckle, "And I always look good."

"Whatever your reasons for fighting, I...I see much of it in your futures," a comely elf says, her speech quiet and probably lost among the warriors' bluster and bravado.

Indeed. Where are you from if I may ask? I am from a small village far from the world, I used to lead it and I still love the place, and miss it and the people there, however, I grew a strong wonderlust and so have found myself here. I guess I am a drifter, helping those where I go. I suppose it was part of this fate I am said to have. Father told me I was bound for greatness and grandeur!

He takes a moment to shake his head and give a slight chuckle.
says an angel told it to be so. Or, some measanger of a deity, I fear my old man is a few mugs shy of a barrel. Though a better man and kinder heart I have yet to meet. he raises his mug in an offer of toast then drains it.

He turns toward elf and chuckles.

do not take offense my fair lady, but I have seen a fair share of combat already. As I said, I have already had a fate foretold, do forgive me if I find others as silly. Not even the gods know for certain what the future holds.

He scratches his goatee for a moment,

would you care for a drink fair maiden?

Durielle looks up startled anyone heard her. Her eyes widen, and her hand jumps involuntarily upwards as if to cover her mouth.

"A..a drink? I have come a long way and am a little parched. Thank you."

Having raised her head, one can see that she seems paler than is healthy, and her pretty features are marred by a gauntness more evident in the light. Her eyes are slightly rheumy, and her hair appears thin and almost colorless except for a slightly gossamer sheen.

Aodhan offers his hand in greeting to the self-described drifter, "I'm Aodhan Vere and I hail from this land. I'm only a few months removed from military service. I realized I would never make a name for myself in the rank and file. So, here I am. I tell you this is a dream come true, a chance to write history." Aodhan gives a welcoming nod and offers a handshake to the lovely lady, "Indeed my lady, such an endeavor virtually guarantees armed conflict. And what are your names?"

Shadow Lodge

GM, sir, did you see my question? Or do you wish to cut of submissions?

Taking the offered hand and trading clasps, the elven woman says, "I am called Durielle Omenstar. I journey to the Stolen Lands to find the future..."

She smiles sightly. "And yes, such a thing will certainly bring those who do not agree face-to-face. But whether it is the chance to write history or to become history, has yet to be seen...even by me."

"Bah none of you look good to me, to my more primitive kin you look like dinner, if you go to the stolen lands you will fight, not for glory but to stop something eating you"

Franz purchases a sweet ale for the lady and hands her a drink.

writing history eh? Gotta admit, put that way it sounds intruiging. Though, first ya need to do something worthy of history taking note. I don't mean local history, to write history is to write something everyone will know, and that is true immortalality, to have your name spoken generations from now, works of art rendering you in almost perfect form, heh. And most important of all, leave a legacy for your young ones to follow and be proud of. Yes, if its immortality and a name in history you seek, that's the proper way to do it. Though for myself, a small urban legend and good friends would suffice I believe. Oh, and the names Franz, Carl Franz.

He gives another wink, at everyone yet no one in particular.

"To find the future, eh? I do not journey to merely seek the future, but to become part of it...to change it, should Abadar grant me favor to do so. Too long have the Stolen Lands lain fallow and untapped...it is past time for an enterprising expedition to bring civilization to that place."

BTW, its Fraan-z. Draw out the a. Like in Carl, not Fran.

Sorry I missed the question the first time round, give me a minute to look into it.

Edit: Yes that's fine.

I'll be selecting Khargol Uzgurn as the next player for the campaign, feel free to join in the discussion area Khargol.

Thanks very much for the selection, DM Tuyena! I appreciate it a great deal!
