My son's Cleric is now level 8, and we are looking for magic items. Specifically, items that increase his abilities directly, or things that will make his Tiger more effective in battle.
Cleric: Current Items
+1 Breastplate
+1 Heavy Wooden Shield
+2 Cloak Resistance
Phylactery of Positive Channeling
He built his character to buff the party, channel to heal party/harm undead, cast a few offensive spells, and let his Tiger do the heavy lifting. He is not terribly concerned with dumping a bunch of gold on a weapon because he does not wade into melee often.
His Tiger could use: More HP's and higher AC.
Considering: Wayfinder and a +2 WIS stone

A lot of people are big on the phylactery, but I'd personally rather have a +wisdom headband. I feel that using spells to hinder/diminish enemies is a better tactic than relying on channeling after or even during combat. The +wisdom item will boost some skills, give you more spells, and raise the DC on the spells you have. If you insist on having the phylactery, take a good look at when you're actually channeling most often - if it's out of combat, wear the +wisdom headband during for spell DCs and then just switch to the phylactery when you need it.

I'd stick with the Phylactery, given what was said in the OP.
Only time the +wisdom headband would be better is if your cleric is an offensive caster. If the casting is primarily buffs, save DCs won't matter.
On a different topic, it sounds like a Rod of Reach is a must-have you don't have yet. (and if you don't care about weapons, you can let that double as your beatin' stick)
Edit: The tiger can probably use a dire collar for some easy damage boost lols. Downside is it's a neck slot, not compatible with amulet of mighty fists or the amulet of natural armor.

EWWWWWW
Pearls of Power for level 1, 2, 4, and 5 are always nice. For level 3 and 6 spells you should get an echoing metamagic rod instead, since it provides essentially the same benefit as 3 pearls of power, for half the cost of 3 pearls of power of those levels.
This is good advice.
Getting a Mithral Breastplate and Mithral barding for the Tiger. Echo the Magic Vestment for both Player/tiger. Now you have scaling armor for both. It really solves:

Boon companion Feat ..... the tiger should be Pouncing, grabbing and raking things to death and not just trying to trade blows like a big stupid fighter.
Considering: Wayfinder and a +2 WIS stone
No...+2 wisdom Ioun stone is really expensive compared to what he should have. The headband of Wisdom is far superior a phylactery of positive energy. As channel energy is is a sub-par ability unless you fully invest into it. Its nice to have and use outside to top multiple people off...but it is one of the weaker abilities a cleric has.
I'd sell the phylactery and get a real headband of Wisdom.
I'd also get a Lesser rod of Extend spell. 3k and it is a very good investment.
Tiger can wear amulets as well so giving him amulet of mighty fists or natural armor. since he isn't needing a weapon I suggest the Mighty fist amulet to give the tiger a better weapon.

How about better will saves and more lower level spells? I can get a Higher Wisdom and get an extra eagle's splendor cast on myself for 2 more channels...that far out weights the extra +2d6 to channel. Most real cleric players go for variant channels and reduced channeling from Evangelist archetype. Channeling is a sub-par ability and almost never worth focusing on as a cleric. If you want to channel you build an oracle or a Oradin as they both do it better and more often.

I have questions regarding the Cost of Mithril Breastplate and Mithral Barding.
Mithral Breastplate: 200g + 4000g Mithral = 4,200 gold
Mithral Barding: 400g + 16,000 Mithral = 16,400 gold
Are my calculations incorrect? This seems fairly expensive to me. Also, do I need to enchant both of these armors with a +1 enhancement (1,000 gold) in order to cast the Magic Vestment spell on it?
Magic Vestment is a 3rd Level Cleric spell and he would want to cast it on himself and his tiger which means two spell slots. How much would a 3rd level wand cost? (cringes)
I know little to nothing about the Lesser Rods and what they do etc. Are these located in Ultimate equipment? I was looking for the Lesser Rod of Extend Spell as that sounds promising.
Is there a better (cheaper) Ioun stone he should select?

You don't need armor to be enchanted to cast magic vestment on it. You might want to enchant it to get other abilities on it (since magic vestment only provides enhancement bonuses to AC)
Even nonmagical armor could be helpful for the tiger -- masterwork studded leather is +3 AC with no proficiency penalty, meaning the tiger doesn't need a feat.
A lot of cleric buffs are long duration, and a lesser rod of extend metamagic would help a lot with those.
An amulet of natural armor or maybe a ring of protection could also help the tiger or the cleric, and maybe the tiger could use a,cloak of resistance.
Depending on the terrain they're usually in, slippers of spider climbing or one of the various magical boots might help the cleric.

Temporary ability modifiers do not increase the numbers of per day abilities.
