Retraining a class level for a prestige level?

Rules Questions

HI,
im wondering if i can replace a class level with a prestige class level as long as i still meet the prerequisites for the prestige class?

say im level 17 i take 1 level of sorcerer, 4 levels barbarian to get the Dragon Disciple. but along the way i take 3 levels of chevalier prestige class. can i then retrain 3 levels of barbarian to put those 3 levels into dragon disciple?

something like this. B=barbarian, S=sorcerer, C=chevalier, D=Dragon disciple.

1)B--1bab
2)S--1bab
3)B--2bab
4)B--3bab
5)B--4bab
6)D--4bab
7)D--5bab
8)D--6bab
9)C--7bab
10)C--8bab
11)C--9bab
12)D--9bab''' retrain a level of barbarian for DD
13)D--10bab
14)D--11bab''' retrain a level of barbarian for DD
15)D--12bab''' retrain a level of barbarian for DD
16)D--12bab''' retrain a level of barbarian for DD
17)D--13bab

now DD get 1/3 bab so i would need 8 levels to keep my levels in chevalier because it needs a bab of 6 to enter. now after i take 8 levels can i then retrain my 4 barbarian levels, for levels of dragon disciple? or as i ge 1 BaB from DD retrain the barbarian level while keeping 6 bab so the only real class level i would have would be sorcerer? i know this seems weird it might be stupid question but i dont know the anwser.

Blame the "Hellknight 6 at level 6" guys and their "fine, but I can still do it" crap.
