So this got me thinking about a character I have that uses a Bastard Sword.
Now if you used this on a Bastard Sword and had the Exotic Prof to make it one handed it would become a light weapon for the purposes of feats and the like.
Now here is a FAQ about the Bastard Sword and Handednesses for you, and in it it states you would indeed get the power attack bonus with a Bastard Sword (so -1 to hit, +3 to damage)
Now we have determined Power Attack will work with a Bastard Sword, but now what about Piranha strike? It now counts as a light weapon for feats so it should in theory work.
So would my total be if I used both -2 to hit and +5 to damage at level 1 (If you could take the feats together and so forth)
At level 4 of a full BAB it would be something like -4 to hit (-2 from each feat) +10 to Damage.
Does that sound right to anyone else? I mean to me that is insanity levels of damage for a level 4 and only goes more insane the higher you go.
I mean at level twenty its what a -10 to hit? +15 from power attack alone (With the 50% increaase) and + 10 from Piranha strike soa total of +25 to damage?
1) Piranha Strike explicitly states that it cannot be combined with Power Attack.
2) Adding the Effortless Lace to the bastard sword causes it to be considered a light weapon for the purposes of Power Attack, so you no longer get the -1/+3 factor even when two-handing it.
The faq you quote says that when wielded 1 handed you get power attack for a 1 handed weapon. So it'd have the -1/+2, and you use piranha strike and power attack together.

For example, if you are wielding it one-handed (which normally requires the Exotic Weapon Proficiency feat), it is treated as a one-handed weapon; Power Attack only gets the one-handed bonus, you cannot use Pushing Assault or Shield of Swings (which require a two-handed weapon), and so on.
so if you count it as a light weapon then it counts as light for all things.

Power Attack is a feat that can be used in conjunction with light weapons.
So both feats are utterly useless then?

having both is useless, as they'd both do the same thing for a light weapon.
I am not really getting why they wouldn't be allowed to work. I mean you would have to use resources to get them to work together effectively. And what is the real difference in a -5/+10 or a -10/+20
I don't understand what you're asking here. They aren't allowed to work together because it says so in the feat.
Also truestrike works for 1 hit, a crit is a hit, people can have bonuses so high that a 2 will hit for their first attack and a 3 for their second.
