put bonekeep up, ill run it on thursday if there is interest if not ill play somethin

Dark Archive

I will bring my updated run kit for Assault on the Wound with me.

It takes a special sort of cascade failure on the table to run long, in my experience. I'm getting in at 0100 Wednesday, and doing some sightseeing / Ingressing.

I will run Traitor's Lodge on Thrursday at noon.

@Majuba, can you add that to warhorn or give me authority to do so?

Sarvei taeno wrote:

Which Bonekeep?

Sovereign Court

1 as 2 and 3 require 50 tables to run

Sarvei taeno wrote:

*Shrug* We will be at a convention of 50 tables or more, despite the fact that it won't have started yet on Thu. I suspect we could ask for permission; worst that could happen is that they say no.

Regardless, I've added Bonekeep 1 to the schedule. Noon time is what you wanted, I presume? Else you'll conflict with the meet-n-eat.

Russ, I added Traitor's Lodge for ya, sir!

Since my flight lands at 11:15AM, I don't want to commit to a noon game; I'm likely not to make it. (I might, might not, you never know.)

I would definitely be interested in a Thursday evening game, although ideally I'd like to be in bed by 11PM so that I can be well-rested before GMing Friday morning.... Or will there be no Thursday evening games because of the Meet-n-Eat? I'm suspecting that there may be more people than can reasonably fit at the Meet-n-Eat.

I'd also be interested in a Thursday afternoon game that started a bit later, e.g. 2PM. If nobody else wants to run one, I might offer one. Would it be possible to get a slot for that on the Warhorn?

Sure. You thinking 2-6 PM?

OK. The 2:00-6:00 PM slot is there. It will not show up in the scehdule until we assign a scenario to said slot. What scenario would you like to run?

Liberty's Edge

Well, here's the question. Do folks want me to run a PFS scenario? I'm happy to do that. But I'm also tempted to run a non-PFS, not-even-Pathfinder, FATE game. Sometime during the convention I'm hoping to run both a Secrets of Cats and an Aether Sea game. I could put one of those into the Thursday slot if you think there would be interest.

Alternatively, I'm open to running lots of different PFS scenarios. Here's a handful that I could run with a minimum of fuss; there are others.

  • 01-45, Delerium's Tangle (1-5)
  • 02-13, Murder on the Throaty Mermaid (1-5)
  • 02-25, You Only Die Twice (5-9)
  • 04-11, The Disappeared (1-5)
  • 04-18, Veteran's Vault (1-5)
  • 05-04, The Stolen Heir (1-5)
  • 06-10, The Wounded Wisp (1-2)
  • 06-15, The Overflow Archives (1-5)

The last two are the ones I'm going to be running as part of the regular con.

What are people (who aren't already playing in Rusty's game) interested in?

Liberty's Edge

(For that matter, I could also probably bring back my "Find Jatembe!" Level 12 / Mythic Tier 4 game....)

rknop wrote:

I signed up for the sunday slot of that, only to realize it was the one from last year *sadface*. But I can't make it to any pre-con games, just post on Monday maybe.

I have confirmed that I will be occupied with yummy VO secrets Thursday night. I may be available for an afternoon game, but at this point I have only a handful of scenarios left to play. I could also run most anything in the catalog. My list.

President, Jon Brazer Enterprises

I was thinking about Open Gaming Thursday for a bit and I had a little flash of inspiration. I am hoping I will be running Expedition to Playtest Mountain on Friday. While I want to playtest running this adventure a bit before the actual playtest of the monsters. So then inspiration hit. Expedition to Playtest Mountain is not the name I really want. It brings too much connotation of barrier peaks, which I am not going for. So instead, I'm calling it:

Cabin in the Playtest Mountains

This way, the players choose their own doom, I mean adventure. You know, Cabin in the Wood-like. This way, I can run the adventure over and over again, and no one knows which adventure will be that time, not even me.

And I can run a game of it on Thursday before the con and then again Friday, getting double the playtest pleasure.

Now to send an email off to the PaizoCon people.

Post a time slot and we can get thqt added.Sword, unless you'd like to handle signups yourself (for Thursday obviously, not Friday).

Dark Archive

I've slotted Assault on the Wound in for Noon Thursday; if shifting that to another time would be good, I will be in town all day on Monday as well, or I could slot it into a Seminar slot once we know the Seminars schedule.

ive messaged majuba. asked him to take bonekeep down and put up wrath of the accursed i saw that is on ur list and i know my g/f hasn't played it either.

Liberty's Edge

OK, straw poll. I will run a game Thursday afternoon, starting at 2 and ending at 6 or 7. Two questions. First, for each of the games below, would you sign up to play for it? Second, which of these would be your favorite? Be aware that all of these conflict with the already-scheduled games starting at noon, so if you're playing one of those, then you won't sign up for one of my games!

(My flight gets in at something like 11:30 on Thursday. There is a small chance, of course, that flights will be delayed and I'll have to cancel at the very last minute. However, if all goes well, I'll be checked in and ready to roll without trouble by 2PM. This is why I don't want to sign up for a noon game, though!)

1. Find Jatembe!

A level 12 / mythic rank 4 Pathfinder adventure set in Golarion. A handful of mythic heroes from across Golarion have felt themselves drawn to Katapesh. There, they are given startling, hard-to-accept information: Old-Mage Jatembe is alive, and clues have been found to his current location! But he’s currently trapped, and it is up to the band of mythic heroes to free him, so that he might become a powerful force for good in the world. Some Pathfinder RPG (and Mythic Adventures) experience is strongly recommended. Characters will be provided (Level 12, Mythic 4). I ran this twice last year at PaizoCon 2014. For six players.

2. The Secrets of Cats

The Secrets of Cats is a FATE game where the characters are all cats. Cats, of course, have mystical powers, and protect their Burdens (i.e. the people who think they're their "owners") from supernatural threats. I would either run the intro adventure in the book, or one of my own devising. Characters would be provided, and no previous FATE experience would be necessary. For four players.

3. The Aether Sea

The Aether Sea is a short (48-page -- same size as "Secrets of Cats") "manapunk" setting for FATE. Humans, elves, dwarves, orcs, trolls, and goblins ply the aether sea between the stars in magically-powered aethercraft. They travel from planet to planet, generally acting like the crew of Firefly if magic worked. It has a bit of a steampunk feel to it, but there's magic all over the place. Again, I'd either run the built-in intro adventure in the book, or one of my own divising. No previous FATE experience would be necessary. Ideally for four players, could probably hadnle one or two more.

4. Stranded in Deep Space

The characters are all passengers on a small luxury spaceliner. In the middle of the journey, all of a sudden, the ship drops out of hyperspace and goes silent. There is no word from the crew. It's up to the PCs to figure out what's going on, and how to deal with it. This is a Fudge game (not a FATE game, although the two systems bear a few small similarities), and no previous Fudge experience is necessary. This is an adventure of my own devising that I've run at conventions two or three times before. All characters are provided. Needs at least four players, is better with at least six, and can support up to eight.

5. Pathfinder Society

I could run one of a number of PFS scenarios, including:

  • 01-45, Delerium's Tangle (1-5)
  • 02-13, Murder on the Throaty Mermaid (1-5)
  • 02-25, You Only Die Twice (5-9)
  • 04-11, The Disappeared (1-5)
  • 04-18, Veteran's Vault (1-5)
  • 05-04, The Stolen Heir (1-5)
  • 06-10, The Wounded Wisp (1-2)
  • 06-15, The Overflow Archives (1-5)

(and potentially others). 06-10 and 06-15 are the scenarios I'll be running as part of the regular con PFS sessions Friday through Monday.

I made the adjustment for you. :)

Liberty's Edge

I'm curious of anybody is eager to play any of the games I listed a couple of posts back at 2PM on Thursday.

If not, I'll pick one, ask somebody to throw it up on the Warhorn, and see how well it sticks....

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

just giving this thread a bump to remind people there will be some games on Thursday. =P

Scarab Sages

Rusty Ironpants wrote:

And one of them will be first edition Metamorphosis Alpha :)

Liberty's Edge

1 person marked this as a favorite.

OK, either nobody is interested in any of the games I can run... or there is a minor form of "option paralysis" going on, where people might be interested, but they're taking a "wait and see" approach to see what's up.

So! To make it concrete. I shall run "Find Jatembe!" on Thursday starting at 2PM, and nominally going to 6PM. (Based on experience from last year, it may go until 7PM or a bit later, but that should be enough.)

There's an excellent chance that I will run some of the other listed games as pickup games at other times. (I may also run them for selected people rather than opening up the floodgates....) I need to wait and see what happens from the lottery before I decide any of that, though.

RD, or Majuba, or somebody who's got access, can you add this game to the Thursday Warhorn for a 2PM-7PM slot?

Grand Lodge

Got you covered, rknop.

Grand Lodge

That's very tempting rknop! Not sure what my Thursday looks like yet though.

Liberty's Edge

Just another bump, since there's a lot of attention on PaizoCon events right now. There are a few things planned for Thursday, if you're arriving early. These are (clearly) not "official" con events, but since a bunch of gamers will all be in the area....

See more info upthread, but you can also find the games listed and sign up for them on the Warhorn here:

https://warhorn.net/events/paizocon-early/schedule/2015/05/21

Sovereign Court

where are we running these games anyways?

Grand Lodge

I'm fairly sure there will be table space in the lobbies of the hotel. I can't say for sure where, since they've changed locations.

Scarab Sages

Also, at the hotel last year, if you asked nicely they would let you into the conference rooms that weren't reserved by anybody else that day. The Doubletree may or may not do the same.

I do know there is lots of space for tables around, though I don't know if any will be set up or not. There are also tables in the bar, two restaurants, and the lounge, and they probably won't be very busy on Thursday night.

Sovereign Court PaizoCon Founder, Wayfinder Editor-in-Chief

This being the Doubletree, your best shot is down in the Rotunda on either floor. That's the "hub" of where the walkways/skybridges meet and split off to other hotel wings. large areas that have had tables set up for past cons. You might ask the hotel if they have tables set up in the rotunda on Thursday... My two cents.

President, Jon Brazer Enterprises

Expedition to Playtest Mountain is on warhorn. Sign up now.

Scarab Sages RPG Superstar 2015 Top 16

It seems no one was interested in playing traitor's lodge after all, so I took my name off the GM slot and joined another game as a player.

Can we remove the game from the list?

Grand Lodge

Done.

Dark Archive

Similarly, no one is interested in Assault on the Wound.

I'm not packing along that map tube if I don't need it...

I'm still hoping there will be a Thursday game I can join. Saddly, Assault on the Wound is one of the few scenarios I've already played.

Liberty's Edge

People have also not signed up for my "Find Jatembe!" game. I didn't want to sign up for something starting before 2PM, because my flight only arrives in Seattle at 11:15AM.

I'm wondering if there's just not enough demand for Thursday games for the ones we're running, or if there will be demand, but it will be pick-up at the last minute. With the number of us cancelling game (or thinking about it, as I am), it sounds like we ought to be able to put together one game between us!

Shadow Lodge

Was looking at the Thursday events too and unfortunately all doing PFS start before my arrival time of around 2:00. Oh well.

Unless somebody wants to get one started. ;-)

Liberty's Edge

If people would rather do a PFS than "Find Jatembe!", I'm happy to swap my 2:00 game to something else.

Pathfinder Adventure Path, Rulebook Subscriber

i would be interested in a game in the evening after finishing up the noon game/grabbing a bite to eat. Or is everyone going to go to AFK?

Dude, we get in at noon local time.

Grand Lodge

I'd like to play something for PFS since I'm GMing all weekend. I can be there pretty much whenever. I signed up for a couple games, but I'm on the wait lists for both

Liberty's Edge

OK, I'll swap out my "Find Jatembe!" game for a PFS game at 2PM on Thursday. TOZ, can you delete "Find Jatembe!" from the Thursday Warhorn? I'll add a PFS game if/when I get some feedback about what people want.

What do people want to play? Here are the scenarios I can have prepped and bring with me:

* 1-45 Delerium's Tangle (1-5)
* 2-13 Murder on the Throaty Mermaid (1-5)
* 2-25 You Only Die Twice (5-9)
* 4-18 The Veteran's Vault (1-5)
* 5-01 The Glass River Rescue (1-5)
* 5-02 The Wardstone Patrol (3-7)
* 5-04 The Stolen Heir (1-5)
* 5-08 The Confirmation (1)
* 6-15 The Overflow Archives (1-5) **

** This is one of the two I'm running as part of the regular Con.

I'd be interested in 5-02 The Wardstone Patrol.

Shadow Lodge

graypark wrote:

I'd do that. I've played the first four on the list, the rest are fair game.

Flight lands at 12:15. I will likely have to check a bag. Get to baggage claim at 12:30. Get bag and be out by 12:45. To hotel where after a flight I'll want to drop off my bag, which at best puts us at 1:00 start-time.

Unless you don't want a drink after all that. :-P

Wardstone Patrol added.

Hey, was looking for a good place to post this, but nowhere else seemed best.

I wasn't fortunate enough to get anything going on for Sunday afternoon, and I'm bringing my Iroran paladin/sorc to the con...was wondering if anyone wanted to host a nice 1-5 or 3-7 around that time?

I'd volunteer to host myself, but this is my first non-internet/local foray, so...yeah. Just testing the waters.

Shadow Lodge

FYI. since there was a lot of interest in my 6-21 game at 1:30. James Hazel offered to drop out and run the same game at noon so if anyone is interested in playing it a little sooner you can jump in his game. It's on the Warhorn page.
