So, yesterday, I incidentally stumbled across the obscure "Class Decks' FAQ, and there I discovered the following entry for Fighter/Bard decks:
"The Spiny Shield has the Magic trait. Shouldn’t it let you recharge it when you reset your hand?
Yes.
Resolution: On the armor Spiny Shield, add the following text: “If you are proficient with light armors, you may recharge this card when you reset your hand.”
Now, I don't know who asked that question - it never occurred to ME that this power may be missing; I always thought that the recharge is Armors-only power - from the Shields only the Fortress Shield has it and I always thought it was a special case exception, as due to its size the FS sorta 'doubles' as Armor.
The new FAQ entry for Spiny Shield however, suggests that ALL Shields that have "magic' trait should share the recharge ability - and between RotR and S&S there're probably a DOZEN of them! - all of which should be subject to the same FAQ.
Since this is a major rebalance issue (I always thought that the lack of the Recharge is the Shields trade-off for having to be merely 'Revealed' as opposed the Armors' Recharge/Discard to prevent X damage)can we get an official ruling on this?
Even better, it would be greatly appreciated if we can get a list of all the Traits that consistently grant a particular power to a given type of card (IE Veteran and Undead) - that way we won't need a dozen+ FAQ entries clarifying that "Yes, Monster X is Undead - he should have 'Immune to Mind and Poison", which seems to be the one most commonly omitted Power...
Thanks for your consideration.

Mike already mentioned it in this thread that they are going over it, so I'd expect an official ruling soon.

There's another thread on here about Magic shields. Seems that the shields will get the recharge ability but the buckles will not. But it's not set just yet.
Personally, I don't think there should be a lot of assumed rules for cards with certain traits. It kinda limits the design space. An armor has the Magic trait, so you can use Detect Magic or Ezren's ability, etc. Not sure why all Armor cards with the Magic trait need to have the recharge ability.
Of course, you gotta ask on some cards if it's just an oversight. Like shouldn't the Rogue Ape have the Animal trait, Undead cards be immune to Poison and Mental, etc. Not saying that what you might assume has to be true. Maybe the Rogue Ape shouldn't have the animal trait because it's sorta sentient, like dragons. Though the chimpanzee named Monkey does have the Animal trait ;)

Hah, thank for the quick reply. That thread somehow went completely over my head. It's good to know Mike & Co. are on the case.
Incidentally, jones314 got it right that not having consistent guidelines makes me doubt a lot cards. After all, I shouldn't have to wonder if an 'Undead' creature is missing a power or it's just a 'special case' situation similar to the 'sentient Rogue Ape' theory.
So this thread is not a complete waste of space, I have another related question that I rather not start a new thread for now:
Shouldn't the dreaded Owlbeartross have the 'Aquatic' trait? By Erastil, I have a Harpoon with b*****d's name on it...
