It would be nifty if people got a tag for submitting items. Instead of words, a little symbol with for the number of times they have submitted items to the contest.
Here I was thinking I could congratulate you on reaching Champion already!

The down side I could see is it may cause people to get mad that they didn't know about it, (it was just started) that they would have submitted if they could get a tag. Also it my encourage people to just submit anything just for the tag.
