Dispel a Wall?

Rules Questions

Quick question number 6743.

Any reason I can't use Dispel Magic to get rid of a wall created from a spell (such as a wall of stone or wall of fire)?

Subject of course to the will of the dice gods.

Depends on the wall. If it has a duration (even permanent) then you could dispel it with dispel magic unless the specific wall says you can't.
But for walls such as wall of stone with a duration of instantaneous then you can't.

So I could dispel a wall of fire or ice but not a wall of stone or iron.
Ok, I can live with that.

Stone, iron, and the like are supposed to be real physical objects that (once created/summoned/whatever) are completely nonmagical as opposed to being continuing magical effects of some sort.

Wall of Force is just special.
