Your description of the Magister reminds me of the Fate/Stay series. However, your mechanics remind me of the Seeker from the Sword of Truth series. Specifically, Guiding Combat.
If you're not aware, the Seeker has this Sword of Truth that is all magic and fanciful. When using it, in addition to being very angry (because magic), he also gets the martial prowess of all the Seekers that came before him. In short, he is a BAMF with a pointy stick, and murderlizes a bunch of people. And he is the good guy of the series. So there is that too.
I like this class. It is very well put together. I want to see what you do with it in terms of giving it some archetypes to play with. One could even be called Seeker (the Seeker of Truth is the full title), that gives him bonuses to Sense Motive, Diplomacy, Bluff and Intimidation (Cha based skills for getting information basically). Maybe even a fancy sword, like a Bonded Weapon that acts as the anchor for the Guiding Spirit.
Read that series if you haven't already. Because it is pretty awesome. I need to finish it myself. They made a tv series from it, Legend of the Seeker. Also good, and it'll take less time to get through than the book series.

BAMF? What does that mean?
And that sounds like a really fun archetype to design.
That series does sound very interesting.
Thanks for all the advice!

I really like the imagery of an ancient warrior's spirit watching over the crusader. However, I'm not so keen on the name "crusader" or the spirit being called a "shade". Personal preference. For me, those two names conjure up images that don't fit. You should refer to the shade as a ghost instead undead. Undead could lead to all kinds of grossness. I also encourage to remove Wisdom from the class.
The class doesn't seem to gain a whole lot. I suggest granting both good Fort saves and Will saves.
Guided Eyes is kind of lame for the only class feature at 2nd level. I suggest instead granting a scaling bonus as part of guiding shade, perhaps 1/2 level (minimum 1)
For a 2nd level class feature, I want to suggest granting Bardic Knowledge but renaming it to Shared Memory or something like that. The shade has been around for centuries right?
I had an idea that sprang from your mention of what spells like dream and nightmare do. What if the shade fights to protect the character in these dream worlds? It could be as simple as allowing him to roll twice when targeted by one of these spells or a divination. If the save is successful, the caster has to roll a save or his identity is discovered by the shade. Just an idea. A good bonus, but not one that will prove useful very often.
Actually, something like that could be one of a bunch of abilities, granted at every even-numbered level call Shade Manifestations. Ghosts don't all have the same powers, and since you mentioned shades stepping in to occasionally stepping in to help the crusader, each shade could have it's own ways of intervening on his behalf. Just more ideas. :)
