I think that a bard would do better than a skald in a thieving campaign (no stealthing etc when your main performance is going). Plus if you pick the right performance skill - you don't even have to have your performance be audible. (dance etc) In addition, inspire courage would help the alchemist's bombs where the skald's wouldn't.
How about a gnome sorceror w/ illusion focus? Though much of its effectiveness depends upon how your GM feels about the image spells. (some GMs seem to hate it) But a basic 'box' silent image where you put a 'wall' around every enemy sans one which they need to disbelieve to pass through is pretty safe. And as a figment, it works on EVERYTHING. (well - the silent image doesn't work if they're blind - but that's it) It lets the party take on enemy groups piecemeal.
Of those - I'd say that the debuff sorceror fits the group/campaign the best. (Alchemist has the range damage covered.)

@Little Helper, One of the biggest boons of Skald was the Spell Kenning ability but I do agree that bard would probably be a better fit.
That being said, since its a thieving campaign, what about an umbral sorcerer? All sorts of darkness-nastiness?
I do love the idea of the scarred witch doctor, CON based casting FTW, but I doubt he would be very stealthy

Any sorcerer that gives you stealth as a skill, any race with a bonus to stealth. I'd go half-elf with the skill focus in Stealth, or Human and just divide the points between things you need. Specialize in Stealth and UMD, maybe Bluff since you are CHA based. Have a high dex and sneak around better than their characters.

What race should I go with for a Umbral Sorcerer?
Race Options are:
Human
1/2 Orc/Elf
Dwarf (yeah right)
gnome
Take something with darkvision so that it stacks up. Darkvision 30ft is okay - Darkvision 90ft is awesome. (umbral get +30ft darkvision @ level 3) Encourage the rest of the group to get darkvision so that you can stealth through dark areas without needing a torch which would give you away. (and so that you can cast darkness to great effect)

It's been over an hour so you probably don't get to read this, but I think just about anything is better than sorceror. Scarred Witch Doctor is crazy good since you're a full caster who's incredibly hard to kill. Play human with the special ancestry trait, use your feat for an extra hex.
Umbral sorceror? That's shadow and illusion, right? Wanna go gnome with that one, hard to hit, tougher to kill, bonus to illusions, good to go. Take profession (barrister) for when you all get arrested and have to talk your way out of jail. I'm just assuming that happens, I don't know Council of Thieves.
