Aasimar+Life Oracle+Spirit Guide=?

I am currently considering retraining my Aasimar Life Oracle into the Spirit Guide archtype. This character has the aasimar preferred class bonus for revelations and specifically for Channeling.

First, when taking the Spirit Guide archtype allows an oracle to pick one shaman spirit. Is it possible to choose the Life Mystery? According to the class you can change it each day but it's not what I have in mind.

Second, if the first question is legal what about the Channel ability? Do I gain an entire bank of channels in addition to the ones I already have?

Last, how does the aasimar preferred class bonus factor into this? Do the new channels get the aasimar preferred class bonus?

The additional bank does seem to be a bit broken. This is kinda like the Purifier archtype in getting additional channels but only to harm outsiders.

This is my gut, I do not have the books on hand to cross reference.

You would get 2 pools of channel per the similar abilities and stacking.
(Side note, this is why a witch doctor shaman with life mystery gets 2 pools of channel)

I am going to assume that the FCB would not affect both pools, as the FCB actually modifies the revelation, not your channel abilities. Your feats however would effect both pools. Selective, alignment, quicken etc. The exception is the extra channel feat, as it is called out in the ACG. YOu still get 2 additional uses, but not to each pool, you basically choose when you use it, which pool gets an extra use that day.

As to the first and most important question, CAN YOU TAKE LIFE MYSTERY VIA SPIRIT GUIDE. I believe the answer is yes, as you do not have it as your shaman mystery.

You can't take the Life Mystery. But I'm sure you can take the Life Spirit. And get two Channel pools. But your FCB doesn't affect your channeling from the Life Spirit.

I know in the process I'll lose my third level Revelation and have to train out of it.

Looking at Life Link. Is the shaman version a misprint or does it only work when someone is at -5HP. Not very useful if you ask me.

Thanks for the info on the FCB. The aasimar FCB is crazy good for this. It makes it so good that you can put a build around it.
