So im joining a lvl 1 PBP 25PB all Paizo allowed except guns. Very RAW game. trying to recreate Howl.

So he has to have good social skills, able to craft well, Access to a familiar (later improved), Full caster.

I was thinking Arcanist, Wizard, Or Witch. I ruled out sorcerer because they can't craft well. but by all means prove me wrong.

I think your best option will be Arcanist. Do not forget to take Create Demiplane later to actually have the castle.

Go Arcanist, Brownfur Transmuter.

I've attempted this myself. I recommend a human wizard (conjurer or transmuter) with the Racial Heritage (tengu), Tengu Raven Form and Tengu Wings feats. Alternatively, a high level summoner with those feats could work (with Calcifer being an eidolon forever connected to his master).

Howl and his moving castle.

@Ravingdork Ooo I Like the format of that character sheet.

From where does it come?

I see you post quite allot on these boards, your emporium is impressive.

@rynjin That was my first thought actually, I'm going to re-watch it tonight and come to a decision.

I'm not sure Howl has good social skills. In both the novels and the movie, he's something of a socially-inept, blunt-force-rather-than-finesse kind of guy. He's charming, and that gets him through a lot of situations, but when actually called out on needing to be social, he's actually kind of naff at it.

If you haven't read the novels (at least read the first), I suggest it. Howl creates and utilizes a lot more in terms of artificing, magical creations, and the like than he does in the movie.

Since you are making items and crafting in general, why not pitch a modified Cloak of the Manta Ray for the wing/flying?

As for charming, basically, Bluff is all you really need.

I think I pretty much got that covered in my build.

When I'm not at work, I'll try to get a look at it. It's not something I've been able to adequately model in any RPG other than HERO, sadly.

Thank you for taking the time to put that together, Ravingdork!

How did you come up with the cost of his castle by the way- just curious- might have to beg my DM but if I can show my work just maybe I can get something out of it

BTW I thought Howl was more of a sorcerer (though Brown-fur transmuter arcanist probably is the best fit)

Please don't get the wrong idea. I did it for me months ago.

That was easy. I used the cost of a castle, as outlined in Ultimate Campaign's downtime rules plus the cost of a colossal animated object as detailed in Ultimate Magic's construct section. I hope that helps! :D
