Equipment Kits

Advice

I noticed there are equipment kits for each class for purchase. Are they enough for the game or should you be adding equipment to them? Any recommendations for must have equipment would be nice.

They are a basic surviving travel kit. They'll let you do nothing special, but you'll have a way to sleep and carry water. Get certain equipment if you want to do something specific.

Any caster say a Cleric, Inquisitor, Paladin all get a cheap wooden holy/unholy symbol though some gms I know allows pc that use the Birthmark Trait to shave 1 gp off the cost of those kits total price.

Adventuring kits are a good start at 1st level. Plus they are optimized for weight balancing but of course you will be using pieces that will need replacing every so often. Instead of replacing the requisite item your group could find something better and/or lighter to accomplish the same thing.. i.e.. sunrod instead of torches, spoon of sustenance instead of trail rations.

I will be picking up TRAVELER’S ANY-TOOL for 250 GP asap as it will replace the need for crowbars, hammers, shovels and about any other specific tool you might need (not including thieves tools).

They're more like a collection of miscellaneous camping/climbing gear, so that a beginner can just pick up a weapon, armor, and a kit without needing to look through sprawling item lists.
