Does this work with the Bloodrider archtype?

Rules Questions

At Bloodrider level 5 does the feat boon companion allow me to quallify for the feat Monstrous Mount? If not is there a feat that would?

I think yes. A feral mount is a mount class feature as far as I'm aware.

I don't think I explained my rule problem properly.

At level 5 my bloodrider's effective druid level -4

Spoiler:
Quote:
Feral Mount (Ex): At 5th level, the bloodrider gains the service of a feral mount. This ability functions as the druid’s animal companion, using the bloodrager’s level – 4 as his effective druid level. This companion must be one he is capable of riding and suitable as a mount. A Medium bloodrider can select a camel or a horse. A Small bloodrider can select a pony or wolf, but can also select a boar or riding dog if he is at least 8th level. Whenever a bloodrider is bloodraging, this feral mount gains a +2 morale bonus to its Strength. This ability replaces uncanny dodge and improved uncanny dodge.

So if I were to say take boon companion to increase my effective druid level as 4 levels higher for my animal companion
Spoiler:
Quote:

Benefit: The abilities of your animal companion or familiar are calculated as though your class were 4 levels higher, to a maximum effective druid level equal to your character level. If you have more than one animal companion or familiar, choose one to receive this benefit. If you lose or dismiss an animal companion or familiar that has received this benefit, you may apply this feat to the replacement creature.

by retraining my level 3 feat to it. Would I qualify as having the effective druid level of at least 4 for my mount class feature thus allowing me to take the
Monstrous Mount feat
Spoiler:
Quote:

Prerequisites: Handle Animal 4 ranks; Ride 4 ranks; divine bond (mount), hunter’s bond (animal companion), or mount class feature with an effective druid level of 4.

Benefit: You can select an exotic beast from the list of monstrous mounts to serve as your animal companion or special mount. You acquire and advance this creature in the same way as the mount or animal companion detailed in the class feature used as a prerequisite for this feat. You can also dismiss the creature as dictated by your class feature.

You must meet additional prerequisites to choose a creature with an Intelligence score of 3 or higher, as described in each creature’s entry.

for my level 5 feat?

I don't know how retraining works. but at lv5 with boon companion you'll qualify for monstrous mount.

Liberty's Edge

By the rules it should work.

My memory is sometimes spotty in my dotage, but I seem to recall the retraining be clarified by a Dev/FAQ to allow you to train an earlier feat into one you now qualify for as long as the feat you train away was not a prerequisite for something else.

That being the case, you gain the Mount at level 5 as a Level -4, Retrain the Level 3 feat to Boon Companion to make Mount now Level even, take level 5 Feat as Monstrous Mount as along as other prereqs are met.

I would look for the FAQ/Clarification on the retraining to keep handy to stave off questions.

I guess my concern was that the boon companion feat would only take into account the animal companion itself as treating my character as 4 druid levels higher and not the actual bloodrider's mount class feature as 4 levels higher. But if it works cool then. Found the FAQ dealing with retraining too.
