I'm lost. I send a message to be assigned as settlement leader 3 days ago. I have a company - that has 11 towers - but until yesterday I got an error message when I tried /settlementapply Emerald Lodge, Emerald Lodge with the error-message Company Emerald Lodge doesn't exist.
Today I didn't get an error message anymore. So I hope I have been finally been assigned. But off course I need to approve myself.
So how do I actually get into the settlement GUI?
Did I miss something in the blog? Read it a few times but didn't spot anything. Did I miss something on the Forum?
Do I just need to wait? How long ?

I'm not sure whats happening with your 'doesnt exist' messages and to be honest you'll need to report that as a bug and swing it by QA to repro and investigate...
I can answer your other question, however!
There is currently no unique settlement UI - instead all the features of your settlement are controlled from the Company UI. To access that use the / command "/companysearch", find your company, and view its details. You can then 'edit' any of the stuff that is currently editable by settlement/company managers.
This is not ideal, I know. There is a full company and settlement UI in the works (I should know, I designed it!) but it a while before we can move from this short-term solution to the intended solution.

I have three tabs.
Under Holdings it says - No settlement
There are 11 or 12 towers listed as Emerald Lodge
Under Holdings it shows a PvP window that isn't editable
I have an alliance tab that is empty for allies and applicants
I tried multiple times to join my settlement.
So three options:
1) I'm just too stupid to understand the GUI and all works fine - then someone tell me what to do to get Emerald Lodge (company) into Emerald Lodge (Settlement). But even after Torks reply I can't see anything else I should be able to do
2) The settlement isn't set up / isn't set up completely. I got a very quick message from Bonny asking for company name that I replied too 3 days ago - but maybe it went into Nirvana. Do I need to applay again?
3) I was actually too stupid when I set it up and named the first company the same as the settlement and now pay the price. I send a second message shortly after my company name to Bonny inquiring if the same name causes problems but never heard back. So I assumed that is fine. Well - was thinking Thod's Friends and decided against it as ''' can cause issues in a name ...
Something possibly related:
Just tried /vcinvite Emerald Lodge, Lito - this is my son
I get an error message Company does not exist []
Trying it the other way - /vcapply Emerald Lodge,Lito shows no error message but also no applicant shows up in the company window
I do have 9 members - but I might have got them before the settlement was fully set up by Bonny / whoever sets them up.
The GUI looks pretty much the same in my sons account. The only difference is he has a button apply (which seems to do nothing). I can send messages to members and change the description there.
The holding and alliance tab are identical to Thod (me) who should be the leader of Emerald Lodge (settlement and company).
I will also submit this as bug repprt to support / but I post it here as some settlement leaders might at least tell me what I should see / should be able to do.

Some upate:
Seems I now also lost leadership of the company. Emerald Lodge (company) lost 1 member and doesn't show anyone as leader anymore.
Possibly I did inadvertently leave by trying to fix it from my side. Interesting to me that the motto that I added didn't show up while I was leader but now shows up.
edit: Do you leave a company if you do /vcapply to another one? I might have tried /vcapply to Thod's Friends? I certainly tried a lot of variatons of /settlementapply.
But I already earlier got already error messages when I tried to invite others and company not found - so it might have been partly bugged all along.

You're not the only one having issues with the GUI, Thod. I haven't recently checked,but heard from one company who tried to tie themselves to Keeper's Pass that there is no manager there despite having thought I saw myself as manager earlier after an email back and forth with customer service.
I am also having the company search gui freezing a lot so maybe I did something unintentionally.

It won't matter for a bit. Besides, at this point, there's a certain joy that comes from breaking things. Or at least a sense of having accomplished something.
"I may not be able to craft T3 armour in Alpha, but at least I can break the company interface consistently."
(Edit: Maybe I need to add a prize for most broken company in alpha)

Hrm. Yeh I dont know WHAT is going on there to be honest, but I totally agree that it is buggy as all hell. I'll be doing a bit of playing with this myself today so if I have any insight I'll post it up here. Otherwise I'll be filing bugs up the wazoo and It'll need to wait for fixes.

At the moment the implementation is not only bugged, but incorrect. So things will be a bit confusing for a while.
When viewing a company right now the holdings and alliances tab show ONLY YOUR OWN HOLDINGS AND ALLIANCES - not those of the company you are currently viewing.
The reason you cant edit your PvP window is probably because you are not listed as the leader of that company. That should have occurred when you set up the company with Bonny. Set up instructions on the blog request:
1) Company Name
2) Settlement Name
3) Names of up to 3 settlement leaders (these must be the names of players who already exist).
Do you remember if you gave her YOUR name as a leader? I'm not seeing any players listed as leaders right now. I cant really think of any other reason you can't edit your PvP window :/

The game is still starting up (or not? - seems to be unusually slow) and I will check as soon as I'm in. I guess I did the right thing and just was away 2 hours on a nice dinner with the whole family. Wasn't allowed to check in here while away.
No matter if it works or not - I just wanted to thank GW for all the effort. I completely understand that this takes extra time.
Oh - seeems the game is ready in the other window - so better post now and report back in a moment.
Edit: Emerald Lodge (company) is now assigned to Emerald Lodge (settlement). That is new and good news. This was the original problem. But it still has no leader. It is good news to know you can give a company more than 1 leader - wasn't aware of that. Will suggest some together with myself by e-mail.

I have a field next to "start time" and a button labeled "edit", but I can't get them to provide any feedback indicating I've done something right.
Is the expected format for time "6pm" "6PM" "06pm" "06PM" or "1800"?
