Shadowcasters and Racial Darkvision

Rules Questions

The Shadowcaster Wizard archetype has Shadowsight replacing the fifth-level Wizard bonus feat. Shadowsight gives the character darkvision out to 60'. If the character is of a race that already has darkvision 60', would it be reasonable to allow that character the Deepsight feat, which extends Darkvision to 120' or to allow that character the normal Wizard bonus feat instead of screwing them out of a class feature?

The rules forum isn't really about what is reasonable. You'd have better luck in advice.

By the rules, no, neither alternative works. The wizard simply gets a redundant benefit. Similar to a Tiefling of the fire elemental bloodline not getting any extra benefit from having a racial fire resistance.

Beyond the rules, I would probably let them choose between going to 120' or taking a bonus feat.

@ ShadowcatX: Sorry about that. I'm not on the forums much so I didn't know.

@ Scythia: Thanks. That pretty much tells me what I was wanting to know. :)

Most other such abilities that i´m aware of says darkvision stacks, normaly in 30 feet ranges. So he would get darkvision 90 feet.
