Arcane Reservoirs?

Rules Questions

What happens when an Exploiter Wizard takes a level of Arcanist? does he have two separate pools or do they combine somehow?

Any ideas? Is this covered anywhere?

I don't think a wizard can take a level of arcanist, nor vise versa, since it's a fusion of wizard and sorcerer.

Wizards definitely can take levels of arcanist. Parent classes can take classes of base classes.

I'd simply have a single pool and treat wizard levels as arcanist levels (so they stack). Most similar abilities work like that (such as monk and ninja ki pools). There are exceptions, but that seems a safe default.

The Exchange

Having one Arcanist level would would (approximately) double your reservoir size as increase your spells known to just over double.

It seems to me that it is perhaps part of the "age old question" of whether multi-classing is more powerful not..

that's how I see this approach..

..more powerful in lower tier but it might "catch up" with you when you are at a higher level (and might then like having one more spell level sooner).

An alternative is to take the Extra Reservoir Feat.

Each reservoir only works for spells cast with that classes spell slots
