6-00: Legacy of the Stonelords Twist Ending

Pathfinder Society

I have played this scenario about a month ago at a convention.

I noticed in several places online people have spoken about the twist ending and how fun it is. I have been wracking my brain trying to recall what it is, and am coming up empty.

Could someone please PM me (because people don't like spoilers posted) if they know what this is referring to? I would really appreciate it. I guess the details are just hazy because it ran quite late, and at the time we were probably too elated to be done and survived to focus on what was going on.

Thank you.

The PaizoCon play test did not have the final act of the scenario. If you played it at GenCon or after, then everything after the throne room fight was the twist.

Spoilers, duh:

I think they're referring to the time travel bit after you reach the throne room and recover the Sky Key.

Though, I wouldn't really consider it a twist ending. Definitely unexpected genre shift, but not really a twist.

Oh, I think we just skipped everything after the final combat, and went straight to the head GM reading the concluding paragraph to the room :( Thanks Disk Elemental abd Steven.

Then you probably were denied the full scenario, if I understand you correctly.

I played it at PaizoCon and ran it this past weekend. My group particularly enjoyed,

Plot Twist:
Going back to the mines and saving the miners from the elementals. Had a very WoW Cavern of Time feel to it.

This also happened to me at gencon. It was rather frustrating, especially considering the GM was talking about finally getting his 5th star, and that it was the final scenario for my character, and I burned the emerald spire elixer boon for the scenario(it was also frustrating that said soon to be 5 star GM didn't have any idea what the Advanced Template was, and had to read it multiple times to figure out how said template worked).

Sometimes when running complex scenarios, I miss a mechanical detail or two, and wonder if other GMs do as well. Then I read stuff like this, and I feel better. :P

Did we travel through time? Or did we travel to a time bubble of an imprinted memory? Still not 100% clear on that IMHO.

I'm not sure about GenCon, but having just ran the non-playtest version locally I realized what may have been the difference. Act 5 only happens if certain conditions are met. While I would have thought that they would have been met at GenCon, perhaps they did not.

Silver Crusade 5/5

Having played at Gencon, I can personally testify that Act 5 most certainly happened. It sounds like the table Victor was talking about just went back to the grand cathedral and waited it out.

Dark Archive

The GM told us the version of the mod he'd printed out didn't have act 5 in it.

Sovereign Court 3/5

We heard that from a few GMs that didn't print the updated scenario after having the PaizoCon one.

We had plenty of updated ones printed in the HQ area if he had asked.

Sorry that you didn't get to play that part.

Having played it at Paizocon then having run it locally, I quite enjoyed the twist. I even had a player contribute to the changes he saw earlier. It was kinda glad isnt wasnt a rehash on the 'siege' deal we have had in the previous multi table specials.
