Carrion crown
Haunts and new forms of semi ethereal undead in the first book alone.
Next book is different focus, with some very cool new ideas riffing on a common theme
Third book shifts to a different set of creatures yet again.
This pattern repeats for the entire AP. They squeezesd all the good horror themes into one adventure path, and is great.

What's a good AP that uses bunches of "funky" monsters? And not in a "here's one in a room, kill it" what, but weaves them into the AP so that they make sense. Bullettes, Intellect Devourer's, anything beyond the standard.
Second Darkness uses some pretty crazy creatures and uses them well - book 2 in particular stands out to me.

My Friday group recently finished this adventure and we fought some kind of carnivorous space plant. I annoyed the GM by asking questions like "is it a mean, green mother from outerspace?" and "is it also bad?"
