Thrown weapons count as ranged, so which mod gets added to the attack roll?

Thrown weapons count as ranged, so which mod gets added to the attack roll, STR or DEX? or both?
Never had the issue come up before. I know damage gets the STR mod.

Silver Crusade

Dex to attack, Str to damage.

Feats exist that let you use Str to attack.

I do not know of a feat that lets you use STR instead of DEX to attack with thrown ranged weapons. Please list it, thanks.

I do know of a magical item though.

Belt of Mighty Hurling, Lesser
Aura moderate transmutation; CL 8th
Slot belt; Price 14,000 gp; Weight 1 lb.

DESCRIPTION
This thick leather belt is buckled with a bright bronze clasp in the shape of a fist.

When worn, it grants its wearer a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength and allows him to apply his Strength modifier as a bonus on attack rolls instead of his Dexterity modifier when making ranged attacks with thrown weapons. Also, the range increment of any weapon thrown by the wearer gains a +10-foot bonus. Treat this Strength bonus as a temporary ability bonus for the first 24 hours the belt is worn.

Thanks

Silver Crusade

Off the top of my head:-

Axethrower: a regional feat in the Players Guide to Faerun. Despite the name, is not limited to axes.

Brutal Throw: from Complete Adventurer.

Both allow you to use your Str mod instead of your Dex mod to attack with throwing weapons.

Both are 3.5 sources, but PF is backwards compatible, right? : )
