I want to run a contest for the Alpha, and I need some solid advice. (Consider it Crowdforging)

I want to identify a piece of equipment that should be possible to make in the alpha, but not easily, or quickly. Preferably something that's going to take the better part of the next two weeks to achieve.

The first person to produce that piece of equipment and show it off to me (you do not have to turn it over) will get their choice of one of the following paid for by me. (actual delivery will, of course, be dependent on Goblinworks' ability to deliver the tokens.)

1 month game time
Alliance Pack
Class pack
Honorable Title
Memorial of Honor
New Player Pack
Regional Trait Pack

Further, that same piece of equipment will be the target of a new contest once EE starts, at which time the prize will be 1 Base Camp.

(edit: If it turns out to be too easy to build during Alpha, we'll pick a new item for the EE portion of the contest)

Very generous of you Cal. Kudos! :)

I would make it a tier 2 that requires mats from 3 different tier 2 refiners. Crusader's Plate needs 3.

Captain's Scale, Glistening Steel Shirt, Warden's Longbow, Warden's Shortbow, Adept's Charged Staff, Adept's Charged Wand, Journeyman's Rogue Kit, Warden's Leathers, Dwarven Steel Battleaxe

Are all T2 and require mats from 3 different refiners.

Maybe I should just make it the first Item that requires Tier 2 with mats from 3 refiners?

Anyone want to help build a comprehensive list (if the above aren't it) and we can go from there?

Cheatle's got the dev-spreadsheets, and is deep in memorising them, so I'd suspect you're seeing the whole list.

Are any or all of those automatic recipes, or are they all reliant on recipe drops?

A +3 battle focus.

Indeed. Anyone finding any copper is what I wanna know.

After about five hours of various adventuring, I have one piece of something that substitutes for copper, but that's it. The General channel was loaded with comments for the first couple hours last night that drop-rates seemed notably lower than earlier builds.

I saw only two types of node: the fallen tree (some) and the purple glowie (lots). I'm sure others were around, but I've not yet seen them either last night or this morning.

They did say that Mineral Nodes would no longer spawn in forest. There were lots on the mountain, but all I got was Iron.

Copper should be available in highlands, but that is a bit of a walk.

Highland hexes have a high Stone rating, a moderate Ore rating, and a low Herds rating. Highland hexes can produce a lot of Bulk Stone, a moderate amount of Bulk Ore, and some Bulk Food and Trade Goods. These settlements will likely have to supplement their food supply elsewhere if they want to be efficient. Highland hexes minerals and metals (of the coal, copper, and gold variety) for crafting.
