ETA on Influence and Feuds

How long after EE launch will we be able to begin building influence and declaring feuds?

Goblin Squad Member

I suspect that shortly after EE, we will be asked what next.

Boats, core roles, core races, feuds, SAD, POI, outposts, siege, a lll the other things are discussing that will not be in MVP….

After a week of EE, there will be a list of the things that are most needed.

The designers will then expand their designs and they will be developed.

Simple thoughts are not simply done (just tell me how be implemented and then planning for feats, et al. will be better and fewer wasted XP). Unfortunately there is a lot of thought that has to go into the new items that are not part of MVP (if they were simple they would be part of MVP). And if such a description was published now and it was killer, it would be adjusted; if %*^)##, it would be adjusted. The designs are not coin tosses. The production is challenging and will require adjustment of the design. And this will iterate.

Influence & feud should top priority, imho.

Influence should begin immediately, because companies gain the most influence from recruiting new members.

Feuds can and will come later.

@ Bluddwolf, if that is the case then they need to change things...

Right now the rules as stated have a limit on how much influence companies can hold based on membership. If we hit that max really early with nothing to spend it on, besides Feuds, then its waste of a lot of influence.

Maybe they should hold off and give some kind of retroactive bonuses at a later date.

I don't recall any dev commentary on there being a cap to the amount of influence a company could bank- and if there is such a cap, I wouldn't expect it to be reachable quickly. If the goal of the influence mechanic is to make people think twice before declaring feuds, imposing a cap that says "feud it or lose it" seems counterproductive.

Well, the Cap is based on how many people you have, and this is where the benefit over time is reduced. After you hit X people, everyone over that only increases your max hold rate by a small amount, unless I totally misunderstood what they were saying.

Also, they were talking about it a few months ago, here on the boards.

Wasn't that Cap something like 50 people?

Soft cap 50 people, not a Hard cap.

Another figure was mentioned of a target settlement of x10 companies of 50 people = 500 member settlement.

Goblin Squad Member

Yea, diminishing returns after 50 people, I believe.

Goblin Squad Member

Yeah, that's what I remember. Not a cap. Just a lessening in efficiency of gain after 50 members, or so...

Goblin Squad Member

That's how I remember it too: beyond 50 members, the amount of influence gain per achievement is reduced. But that's not a cap on total influence accumulation, just a reduced rate of gain.

Goblin Squad Member

I understood it as the cap increasing, but diminishing returns after 50 people. I need to go back and look it up.
